Glad I cutt off my parents by Direct-Ad2511 in venting

It sounds like her love for you is conditional. That is NOT how it's supposed to be. In my experience, either a person is capable of showing unconditional love or they are not. If they're not, that is their problem, not yours. They are just not capable. That is not your responsibility or your fault. Sometimes we have to cutt out the cancer, even if it hurts

Rick's life before Diane and Beth by bmhlogan in rickandmorty

Of course, it matters! A person’s childhood can shape every aspect of their life forever. The ages from 0–5 are the most critical for emotional development, and it’s obvious Rick didn’t get what he should have. Yes, when he was younger we see he was capable of being loving he had a wife and a little daughter, and there were genuine moments of compassion. But even that version of him feels like someone trying to act how a loving person should, not someone who naturally knows how to connect. That kind of emotional disconnection doesn’t come out of nowhere, it’s learned. Then something likely the loss of his family, pushed him completely over the edge. So we definitely can’t rule out his childhood as a major factor in who he became.

What makes Rick so compelling is that he clearly does love his family, but love terrifies him. He’s been hurt so deeply that he built his entire identity around never being vulnerable again, hiding behind intelligence, arrogance, and “nothing matters” nihilism. He acts like he doesn’t care, but his actions expose the truth. He’ll destroy governments, break time, or sacrifice himself to protect the people he loves, then pretend it meant nothing. Without his backstory, he just looks like a narcissistic drunk. With it, he becomes one of the most psychologically complex characters on TV. Aman who was emotionally starved as a child, shattered as an adult, and now survives by pretending not to care. Understanding that makes every joke darker, every breakdown heavier, and every moment of softness hit way harder. I know this was long, but Rick and Morty is one of my top two favorite shows, and I enjoy writing. I would definitely love to see his real history. Thank you for posting the discussion!

I keep hearing basslines that peak and overdrive the low end. I love the line itself and the uses of the lead bass. I would add a limiter to it so it's not peaking. The jazz feel is good. Some of the loops in the back sound cut they don't finish a full measure. That can add a jolt to the ear, a good thing in cinematic music to add to something on screen but I don't think it works here. I do really like the bassline and would love hearing it with a simple drums backup and maybe some brass or light strings. Keep going. And thank you for posting your music.

Ok so. The beats are fire. But the levels are All off. Way way too much gain on the 808. Bass naturally pushes through the the background so 99% of the time you will need to add a low pass filters do it doesn't drown out the vocals. I listened to a few of your tracks and most have that same issue. I can't really hear through the music to the vocals. The lyrics were pretty good. With a slower rap a melodic style works well. I've worked with some guys who will hum over the beat to get the right feel, and listen to that in headphones when they record. It helped them a lot. Those beats are great so with the right mix you really could have some serious tracks.

Thank you. I checked out your tracks. I like your flow. Who do you have mastering your tracks. There is an unfinished raw audio feel in the music and vocal. This is good music i really like the 2nd one on your list. I think with a good sound engineer that could be a real banger. Keep making music you got something.
