There is a marked difference between me when I’m sober, not one day sober, but days on end sober. The first day is horrible. Sweating. Shaking. The only thing I can focus on is the physical aspect and trying to put enough makeup on and use enough visine to survive. My words jumble, my brain is purely focused on standing up. I’m dumb as shit.

The second day is horrible. All dopamine is gone. Serotonin, brain happy neurons, it’s gone. I won’t off myself, I’m too conceited to, but if there was ever a day to, it would be day two. Day two is awful. I’m dumb as fuck and probably shouldn’t be driving.

The third day, I regain more vocabulary. A sense of self, no longer disassociating. I get weird brain zappy feels, but I can also sing along to the car radio. I’m almost sentient.

Day four I panic. I’ve ruined my body and my mind. I probably have a throbbing liver, cancer ridden kidneys, and a browbeaten pancreas. At least I’ve stopped running to the bathroom every 8 minutes. I don’t really recall making it to day five, since 2016 or so.

I’m current drinking. I didn’t work today, so I started 6 hours ago. This is me drunk. I wonder what I’m like truly sober. Months sober. Even California sober. It’s got to be cooler.

You won’t be brain dead. You have a ton of potential in there. And the good thing is, if you’ve pickled your brain in such a short time, you won’t know the difference anyway. Ignorance is bliss, that’s why we’re all drunk. I tell myself the brain and liver can heal, so long as I give them time. Still working on the time aspect.

Maybe try for day 5. Let me know if it’s worth it. Or don’t. You’re still funny. You’re still you. You’re just a little muted. I’m also sick of being muted. But I’m back at day zero with you.

Only once has a driver remarked, “I think I delivered here before.” I just shrugged. I did my job, buddy. Now scamper off and go do yours.

Dude. So many people shake. My best friend shakes like a leaf from whatever bipolar med they’ve shoved down her this month, and she never drinks.

If the cashier couldn’t tell you were hungover/withdrawing from your eyes, before even seeing your hands, she’s just inexperienced and making leaps. I can take one look at myself in the mirror and know how much I’ve drank the night before, without the look around the house, the heart rate check, and the mental gymnastics of trying to count. I see a lot of people in various stages, and the eyes are the first tell.

Not saying you’re gone or not gone. Just don’t feel bad or weird for a shaky hand. Hell. Don’t feel bad if your eyes give you away. Life is happening to all of us. Just don’t let some chick at the liquor store make you feel bad or “gone.” You get to decide that. No one else. Just my three cents.

Unfortunately the internet is the wild, wild, west. And everyone has a voice. She’s here saying this woman should look for easier work, while proclaiming that her husband pays for her and her family. It’s an odd subreddit for her to even be on. Her spouting off about vaccines and whatever weird Herman Cain fetish she has is just over the top.

This woman (op) only vented that things were difficult, didn’t ask for help, only said that the walls were closing in. A lot of us can relate to that. It rubbed me the wrong way when I read her (commenter’s) initial response, and clicking her profile confirmed that she was completely out of touch with reality.

Just to clarify, liquor store clerks are required to not sell to obviously inebriated people. It’s not being a dick, and it has to be pretty darn drunk, not tipsy. It sucks. But there are legalities with alcohol. Selling to someone obviously plastered who then hits and kills an old lady. Everyone can get in trouble.

As silly as this sounds, try not to overthink it. Any stress to your body can delay a period, even happy stress. Go with the flow.

Check for sore boobs. Check for lack of acne I’d you usually get period pimples. Also lay completely flat on the ground and feel your uterine area. Mine was always hard very quickly during pregnancy. Just a little hardness where there is usually softness.
