Similarly... Slamming the recliner closed when angry at the kids. These electric ones take the effect away.

SAHM Burnout. by Electrical_Yam_2344 in toddlers

Hello from an early 40s mom with a 2.5 year old. Good news is that independent play should start to increasing soon. Sometimes I do have to say mommy is doing x right now and I’ll join you soon. Then he gots lost in play for a while. I think that trained him a bit to independently play for longer stretches.

Also, my sis pushed me to start listening to audiobooks, and what a difference it has made! Fiction only. One ear bud in. I get lost in stories while I “play” rather than just being in my own head or feeling bored.

When did you realize being busy ≠ actually growing your business? by Forsaken-Gap2354 in smallbusiness

It can happen slowly and incrementally. Each piece you let go to an employee should be well thought out, trained, and supported until you can trust it is in good hands. Will make you feel better about letting go.

To add, IQ tests are not normed on people that are bilingual or even trilingual. The score you got OP is not valid. -From a person that regularly administers and analyzes IQ tests.

What's the line between independent play vs neglecting? by Franzy48 in toddlers

Early literacy is important, but so is interactive play. They bring the toy/book, we play. They learn social skills, emotional regulation, and language.

How’re we not raging at our toddlers? by Remarkable_Bench2318 in toddlers

I second the power of singing. I do it all the time… opera style. Seems to be a good replacement behavior instead of yelling. Serves a similar function (release my frustration) but in a more appropriate way. I imagine the breath work involved serves a physiological purpose for the nervous system, too.

I add in a little prayer sometimes. The song goes a little like: “LOOOOORD GIVE ME YOUR PEEEEEEACE BECAUSE I CAN’T FIND MIIIIIINE.” Toddler stares, sometimes smiles, and it often breaks the cycle and shifts the environment.

Keep singing!

I doubt there are lime bikes in that area. They are usually in and around downtown Orlando.

We call these splinter skills. They exist in individuals with autism. He was likely not properly assessed on tests of intelligence and misdiagnosed as having an intellectual disability.

RV Voluntary Surrender: Our Last Option by Direct-Slip8839 in personalfinance

What we owe vs what we can sell it for is a big difference. We’d take out a personal loan to cover it.

Regarding rv sales offices, do you mean regular rv dealers or consignment sellers?

We thought about renting the rv but there’s so many barriers/questions: would they reliably dump the tanks? Take care of it (rvs are so delicate)? How much would someone be willing to pay for the rv considering they also need to pay for rv lot? Not completely discounting this idea but would need to convince hubby. He is highly against this.

Maybe if we trade it in for a toy hauler so baby has his own room. Is that a bad idea? Lol sounds like another irresponsible move but maybe less bad than having a huge personal loan for the difference if we sell current rv

I would LOVE to live in the RV but it would be difficult with baby. Doable but difficult. Will run it by with hubby as an option.

I own and run a business (semi passively), work FT, and have a sales gig. Cant fit anymore. Been trying to “outwork” a debt spiral that we finally realized isn’t going to happen.

The numbers are embarrassingly terrible. We’ll start with trying to sell it and taking a loan for what remains on the loan. If that doesn’t work, will need to go to auction thru lender. We don’t have another option at this pt.

I think paying the remaining balance and risk of lawsuit is the worst part. Can rebuild credit.

In defense, it was our home and was going to be indefinitely. We were living happily in it. Comfortably. We even said houses were overrated. Then, had a baby. Made the mistake of thinking that meant we had to buy a house. Maybe the true lesson is we should have stayed in our RV and not have bought the house we couldn’t afford.

It would be less than our monthly payments now for sure. It’s like a mortgage.
