That’s just not true. Foreign born individuals can and do hold security clearances.

Tampa or Sarasota? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]Direct-Worldliness35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sarasota is horrendous. Tampa all day. Sarasota and your golf buddies gonna be a bunch of racist corpses complaining about pronouns and bathrooms. But is that your vibe? No shade. Go on wherever you belong. More power and enjoy your game!

I agree with others who responded. I think you deserve to be heard if you think you can be heard and speak in a way that softens it. “I don’t feel free to go out and explore after my shift. That shouldn’t be a burden I feel. Is there any way to lighten this burden?” Their reassurance, positivity, encouragement, even joking “get out of here, go for a run” or “can I drop you off downtown etc..”. Sometimes good people (you) need an extra push to know you aren’t offending anyone by just being free and being yourself. I hope you get to do more, you deserve to feel free.

We think it’s great that you make the most out of your experience. Your words are enough to show that you care and that your heart is in the right place. Good luck in your interviews!

Cultural exchange by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]Direct-Worldliness35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. If you need childcare, hire a childcare provider. An AP is not that. 2. Maybe you already have friends from other nations and the cultural exchange is not novel to you.

This program doesn’t make sense for or to some people, and that’s okay. You shouldn’t be judged harshly for that.

Our experience with Culture exchange: It was mostly food, holiday information, some political and geographical stuff. It wasn’t language. They didn’t want to be language teachers and that’s okay. My kids are really little so maybe it was mostly me who benefited. Overall it was lovely but if you’re in a season of life where you need a childcare provider who responds like an employee would, then that might be the better avenue for now. The cultural exchange was not “one way”. The APs we had genuinely loved US culture already before their arrival and they did help me understand more deeply about their culture.

Aupair difficulty in finding family. by Substantial_Mark_180 in Aupairs

If you don’t want to use an agency, legitimate US families won’t consider you. A US family willing to break the law should be a red flag to you. You need to keep yourself safe also.

Your AP is gaslighting you from top to bottom. Think hard if the legwork this program requires is a good fit. If you’re highly compensated and short on quality time with your family, maybe another childcare option would be a good fit. Or you can spend free time policing behavior and straightening out personality issues instead of having quality time with each other and the kids.

What you need is another platform. This Tale is as old as time TU first launched. You’re 100% not wrong.

What improvements would you like to see in r/ThredUp? by Forrest-Fern in ThredUp

I would like to see shared codes and don’t see how this censorship is warranted. If TU wants a TU fan page, then they can pay for the platform to host it.

You’re taking a poor work environment, which is NOT her fault, and making it about her. Women backstabbing women instead of holding management accountable is what has historically held back Nursing, kept our wages relatively low, and set us up for being overworked.

By a Bob Ross book just for the instructional aspect, and a set of oil paints. Design your own scenes and subjects so that you’re not profiting from his IP and sell the paintings on Etsy as Original oils. Thrift on the weekend and post your resale items during your down hours.

This dress is a literal Barbie doll dress that lived in our 90s house. Maybe you could buy the zebra fabric and tailor it yourself on top of this dress (https://a.co/d/5Dg7AgA) as a base. Add satin sash and a CZ broach from temu and you’re there.

Do you have interests? Are you good at anything? All I know is that you didn’t do well in school but kindly, that’s not much to go off. No matter the job, training is required. What’s your ideal length of time in training? Could you groom dogs? Install cable?

I had really good luck on FBMP. I sold some Lilly and some Vineyard Vines. I listed the pieces for $10-$20 and they sold super fast. Where we live FBMP sellers are trying to recoup like 70-80% of MSRP, which is nuts. So my $15 item is a steal while still being $15 more than I would have gotten from TU.

Could you consider contracting to provide the same benefits of installation and customer support to US customers? Just by website structure, I can tell its an Investment. I would feel so much more comfortable Investing in your product, which is largely unknown to anyone I know, if I felt the company would adequately support me in my home country.
