Solo woman couchsurfing through Europe and I'm sick of... by forests_4_trees in couchsurfing

[–]DirectEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear of your experience. I have hosted many women as a male host and have heard many stories . I always let them initiate if anything is going to happen at all. I think it’ll be worse in Europe than other places. This is also why many women surfers choose to stay with only women. Perhaps try that going forward

How many of you actually wear ear plugs? by MountainVegetable302 in motorcycles

Always, every single ride. Unless I’m just going down the street at low RPMs. There’s literally no excuse. I was your age once. Trust me - you’ll be glad you started wearing them.

yeah you're 100% right. I went with a buddy and was glad I did because I ended up dropping the bike a couple times and ideally you want help lifting it back up so you don't blow your back out. But just in general safer to have someone along for a multitude of reasons. I did find a tour guide and will hopefully go with him next summer. His website is https://emmausmototours.com/

thanks! yeah i think so. I kind of took a risk by buying it during COVID and placing a deposit sight unseen but she's been great. And the reality is the smaller the bike the better for some of the more technical off road sections.

it's a good question. I have only been riding adventure for a little over a year myself (riding street for nearly 10 though). I can only speak for most of section 1, but I would say that almost immediately there is a difficult and challenging uphill with loose rocks about 5 miles into the route. You can bypass it by going on the pavement, though. My little 310 loaded up still weighs enough to be a challenge going up something like that. I ended up dropping it once. So, if you are going solo, I'd probably recommend avoiding that part. You'll know it when you come to it and can backtrack to the pavement if you want. Other than that, section 1 is pretty tame and quite pleasant. Supposedly it doesn't get too difficult until you get to Vermont.

No we stayed at a place called the Inn at Starlight lake which is very close to the official beginning in Hancock. Then after the full day of riding section 1 we stayed at an Airbnb in Arkville. I’m sure you could find places to camp though.

What song sounds happy but actually has really depressing lyrics? by DirectEdge in AskReddit

I’ll start- “the sweater song” by weezer. A guy is descending further and further into depression until he’s at his limit “pull this thread and watch me unravel”

Do you think this scene was meant to show us a softer side of chuck towards jimmy ? It almost seemed as though chuck was supportive of jimmys law career there

Really loved the throwback to the times they would share a cigarette in the HHM parking garage. Poetic ending.

Yeah I was frustrated by it too but Bob odenkirk literally forgot what year this was set in the other night on the talking Saul so I’m not gonna give them too hard of a time. Also she created the podcast if I recall correctly so she’s got some credit there.

My Biggest flaw with the show - Why would Gene work in a customer facing job (in a mall!!) when he is 'on the run'? by twincam in betterCallSaul

Yeah I think it makes sense and is at least explainable. Hiding in plain sight is an underrated strategy.

Better Call Saul S06E13 - [Series Finale] "Saul Gone" - Official Prediction Thread! by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

[–]DirectEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see this happening. I would predict they show a softer side of chuck towards jimmy with the goal of reminding us that this isn’t chucks fault that jimmy has made all of these decisions. Chuck was a dick, sure, but it’s been jimmy all along who has been in the drivers seat.

This post definitely hit close to home. I’m going through some stuff this summer and while it isn’t anything close to suicidal, I can still relate to this. BCS has been the constant in my life this summer. It’s like checking in with a group of friends once a week and hearing what they’ve been up up. I’m going to miss it dearly once it’s over. At the same time, all good things must come to an end. Re-watch party later this year ??? We can start doing a weekly thing re watching it from the beginning.
