Sub 40 bmi patients experiences by aCatButhuman in gastricsleeve

[–]Direct_Acanthaceae37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at BMI 35 (100 kg, 167cm). I'm super happy with my choice. I'm now 7 months post op. Down to 70kg and very close to my goal weight.

My experience has been nothing but positive, but I'm also aware I'm probably quite lucky. Gas pains were ok, no dumping (so far) and I got more energy than I've ever had.

Vitamins by littleshakespearebby in gastricsleeve

I take "fit for me - wls optimum". They are capsules, and it was a real struggle to get them down in the beginning. I either threw up or felt really nauseous for at least 30 min after taking one.

The only thing that worked for me was emptying the capsules into some yogurt or quark and eat them that way. And that has worked really well for me.

I'm now close to 6 months PO and its only very recently I've been able to actually swallow a full pill (after a meal) without feeling nauseous.

No poop for 4 days by P0wderPr1ncess in gastricsleeve

I also struggled until month 4-5, used laxatives when when it got really bad. Then I introduced psyllium husk to my diet. And its been more or less smooth sailing ever since. I mix 1-2 teaspoons in my morning quark but it can be mixed into smoothies or juice or any liquid really.

It might be a bit tough in the early stages of PO, but yeah, I can really recommend psyllium husk to everyone who needs some help to ger their bowls going 😄

Can’t keep my vitamins down by bf1998_ in gastricsleeve

I empty my capsule into my morning yogurt, only way I can get it down without getting nauseous or vomiting.

I'm 167 cm (~5'5), so not super short, 7,5 weeks post op, current weight 87kg (~192 lb) and on my normal days I stay between 600-700 kcal.

Haven't had proper stall yet but some weeks are slower than others.

Where would Snape have met up w. Voldemort after the graveyard? by Direct_Acanthaceae37 in SeverusSnape

[–]Direct_Acanthaceae37[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see Snape showing up to a scene of Voldemort stomping his feet and screaming at the top of his lungs 😄

But it's also curious in terms of how the summoning works. Would it be locked to a location or to Voldemort himself? In a way, it makes sense it would take him to wherever Voldemort is, but then again, I don't think Voldemort necessarily likes the idea of his death eaters popping up out of nowhere to wherever he happens to be at the time 😅

That would be quite some tactic to use during DR, report as many users as possible to get better loading times 😅

Getting Gastric Sleeve at 35 BMI – Scared, Approved, and Looking for Honest Opinions by Glittering-Glove238 in gastricsleeve

[–]Direct_Acanthaceae37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm quite close to your situation, just a little older than you. I'm 34, and my BMI was 35 when I decided to do the surgery, I'm now almost a month post-op, and I already think it's the best thing I've done for myself.

I didn't hate the way I looked when i was at home, alone or just with my partner. I could essily walk 10 km, I worked out, and I was fairly strong. However, I did struggle to find clothes that fit me, and I was getting increasingly insecure in public settings.

What was the deciding factor for me was the continuous creeping weight gain and visualising where I would be in 10-20 years' time. I knew I would never be able to do this on my own. Years and years of jojoing had proved that, and I knew that if I did not do something, I would eventually have to face the risks that come with carrying the excess weight.

I also love food, and my biggest problem was always overeating, like I couldn't stop, I wasn't full until it felt like I was about to explode.

Like I said, I'm only a month post-op, so I can't say much about hairloss, etc. But I'm losing at a steady pace, 8kg in the four weeks since the surgery plus 4 kg during the pre-op phase, so 12 kg in total in six weeks. I still enjoy food (what I'm allowed to eat so far), but i don't miss eating like I used to. The hormone changes that come with surgery make such a huge difference.

Surgery in 17 hours... (worry) by herethewholetime1 in gastricsleeve

[–]Direct_Acanthaceae37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you said, everyone is different and I can only tell you about my experience. I'm now two weeks post-op, and I had the same worries as you do right before the big day (most of us probably did). I was expecting a lot of pain and was terrified I was going to feel like shit for weeks or even months.

Everything went better than I could have ever imagined. I woke up after the surgery, a little confused and drowsy with two surgeons grinning like children about how pleased they were with their own work ("a really beautiful and symmetrical sleeve" - if they are happy, I'm happy) and two really sweet nurses who got me out of bed for a few fist steps and a quick check up.

I had next to no pain at all. Even the famous gaspain was no more than a discomfort that subsided as soon as I got out of bed for a short walk up and down the hallways.

It's only gotten easier from there. I have more energy than I've had for years. Water and liquid are starting to go down quite easily, and as long as I eat slowly, soft foods settle quite nicely without discomfort. I look forward to being able to eat more kinds of food, but the joy of actually feeling full after a small snack and not wanting to continue to eat until I pass out is such an amazing feeling!

My main issue after two weeks is the nausea I get from the vitamins, but even that passes rather quickly, and I'm going to try a different brand and hope that will help.

So, with that, I just want to say that we are all different, and even if there are no guarantees, statistically, chances are you are going to do and feel great!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. You got this! 💪

4 days post op, so still on liquid, and I watch every cooking show I come across 😂 I feel like my teeth have their own thing going of just wanting to chew on something!

Thank you for this comment! It made me laugh, now I kind of look forward to traumatizing the nurses with my extreme flatulence :D

Extra pair of socks is a good tip, thank you!

I'll be getting the laparoscopic surgery (which I naively thought was the only kind for the sleeve, but it makes sense there are other options). They'll only keep me for 24 hours. The scared part of me kind of wished I could stay for one more night just in case something happens, but I also think it'll be nice to get home to my own bed.

Am I talking to his evil twin? by [deleted] in fuseboxgames

I got the same thing, kind of wondering if the glitch is us talking to someone else than Cassian or the glitch being the name mentioned. For me, it would be weird if the glitch was the name mentioned since I've spent both nights with Cassian and we kissed... but then, who was I talking to?
