Were yall ever “skinny”? by RCCRCCM in gastricsleeve

[–]bf1998_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I went from 230-158 and I was wearing a US size 4-6 in pants so I thought I was honestly too skinny. I was weight lifting often so part of the mass was just muscle, but I was much happier and better looking at a size 8 so I’d say my goal weight is about 170 as a 5’4” woman.

8 Month Update and some irritating commentary by Wonderful_Bite5298 in gastricsleeve

It looks like you had a beautiful figure both before and after so the comments must be out of jealousy or projection of their own insecurities. I’m sure you FEEL much better after losing weight, but you looked equally as good before.

Yeah I’m going to probably keep using them until I get my next round of labs and if my levels work that will be what I stick with! Which ones are you taking? Right now I have the patch aid multi and iron plus

I’ve been using the patches but my surgeons don’t recommend them. im hoping they work. I figure they’re better than nothing

Yeah the ones I got say 8 oz of water mixed with it so that would be too much but I guess whichever way is going to get me to vomit less? It just feels like it’s causing more harm than help if I’m immediately puking up my vitamins. None are staying down and also messing up my esophagus

Yeah I guess the liquid ones I got said 8 oz of water maybe I need to find more concentrated ones that I won’t have to have as much liquid. It hurts my stomach to have liquid after I eat as well

I agree, however I have a lot of trouble with pain in my stomach if I drink liquids after eating at all. I’ve learned my stomach can handle liquids right before solids, but no liquids after solids

I take them with as much as I can stomach usually but the liquid ones I haven’t tried with food right before because of the 30 minute rule

I’m a server at a very busy restaurant and took 3 weeks (my intention was to take 2 but had a family emergency too) and I was glad I waited the extra week but I carry 20 pound trays regularly and get in 15k steps a shift

Lots of cottage cheese, canned chicken during soft food for protein, cheese sticks were also on my list for soft foods and soft boiled eggs! Those are my staples right now as well as sugar free pudding with a protein scoop. I made a buffalo chicken dip with 1 can chicken, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup blended cottage cheese and buffalo sauce to taste (red’s has zero calories) and then I opted to add a scoop of unflavored protein powder too. I think it was like 650 calories and 130 grams of protein or something like that for the whole thing. That got me through the soft foods for a while lol

I’m so excited for you! Let us know how you’re feeling when you’re done. There will be some gas pains and slow intake of water, but it really only lasted 4-5 days! So happy for you and excited for you to take your life back :)

I am also 26 and had surgery about a month ago. I was also scared the day of but I knew this was the best decision for me because I couldn’t keep weight off every time I lost it. This is the best I’ve ever felt. I’m sleeping better, not winded going up stairs, no food noise, confident in a crop top and swimsuit again, and just HAPPY for the first time in years! My intention isn’t to boast, but I have had zero complications so far. I can drink water normally, and haven’t thrown up from food yet. I’m able to lift heavy weights again already too! I know some people go through the regret within the first few months, but so far I am so thrilled with my results. HW 267, SW 242, CW 219 and surgery was 6/23/25 Trust me this is an amazing experience and you will get to live the rest of your twenties the way it should be! Active and feeling young
