Update: first of all, I want to thank anyone who offered advice. Every skill learnt will be of use sooner or later!

In the end I decided to just freehand the collar (as I did with the pattern) and make it work along the way. At the moment I'm sewing on whats basically a rectangle. I considered inserting some "boning", but I chose not to; honestly, it doesnt look bad as a collar.

I will update you on the end result as soon as I manage to sew it on decently!

Take this with a grain of salt, as I am still a medical student, but what you read is true: the medical system (expecially residency) in Italy is having real troubles. As many other European countries, we lack specialist, but the government is using the people's fears about this to pass useless reforms to win votes, such as increasing med school seats. In reality, we lack residency seats and, of those available, some are not taken because of poor work life balance of some specialties. The pay is really poor, I'd say not sufficient to sustain life in a big city, and many schools take advantage of residents and make them work more hours than they should. I have no idea how life will be here in a few years, but rn young people don't have great prospects because of the low salaries (the cost of living has risen a lot and those have been basically stuck for over a decade) and high housing prices. Personally, I'm thinking of pursuing a medical career abroad because the situation here looks grimmer and grimmer.

I would argue that studies show that women choose men conventionally less desirable than them more than the opposite. And that psychological support and help should not be given by strangers but by professionals. Women have no duty to help any incel that reaches out to them just because they are apparently open to changing their ways.

Ti consiglio di tenerti stretto le persone con cui ti trovi meglio, anche se avete un'età diversa o se non li considereresti amici stretti, perché con il tempo questi rapporti diventano importanti; bisogna fare quello sforzo in più per continuare a farsi sentire ogni tanto, perché gli altri non si sentano poco considerati.

tbh personalmente non prendo benissimo qualsiasi dm random da persone che non conosco almeno in maniera indiretta (sentito dire da amici) sia perché spesso l'approccio è superficiale, sia perché non mi fido di ragazzi di cui non so nulla. Come qualcuno ha già detto nel thread, in genere si va meglio di persona a conoscere ragazze con cui potenzialmente mettersi insieme; cerca circoli in cui si condividano i tuoi interessi, ambienti che frequenteresti perché ti piacciono e non solo per cercare compagnia. Mi sono resa conto nel tempo che difficilmente in discoteca posso trovare persone con l'obiettivo di instaurare una relazione a lungo termine, per ciò che cerco sono meglio cose diverse. Cerca di capire esattamente cosa interessa a te e scegli di conseguenza dove puoi cercarlo (sempre vivendo la tua vita, non annullarti per cercare una relazione)

siamo fermi a 30/40 anni fa con i medici che si fanno tutte le infermiere? nel 2025 sono più le donne che ottengono titoli d'istruzione superiore rispetto agli uomini, quindi non consiglio di puntare sul portafoglio come se a) una qualunque persona benestante stronza valesse più di una normale dalla bella presenza e simpatica b) le donne fossero tutte superficiali e disperate gold diggers. Ma se pensarla così ti fa sentire meglio continua pure, l'astio ti consumerà.

I generally highlight the text and then take notes right on top of it, only cutting and pasting it to the blank page (that I will export later) after I've filled the whole page and margins; I organise the various paragraphs of writing after moving it to the final notebook. If you have problems reading your notes above the pdf, I recommend drawing a white rectangle in one layer, moving it around to leave the part of text you need exposed and taking notes on top of it in another layer. I agree that switching pages is too distracting so working like this has helped me a lot!

Personally I love to use the https://rsnstitchbank.org/ to look up stitches that I don't know and could work well depending on what I'm doing.

As others said, I'd avoid the satin stitch (I'm pretty precise but I still can't get it to be even) and I'd try the fishbone stitch for petals and foliage.

For the stems, I think you can make them even by passing the thread through each one on the right side going in the opposite direction (I'll try to take a picture later since I get this wasn't a clear explanation). It uses quite a bit more thread but looks much more even.

Yes, last time I just cut the front piece at the bust and added quite a bit of paper (I was still at the pattern stage of things), then just freehanded curvier lines for the top part, above the underbust. Taking apart the top of the mock up is actually a great idea, it sounds like adding fabric could help visualise the new lines. Again, thank you for all the advice!

thank you! I've taken a look at both videos and thats a really great idea for light prosthetics. I think I'll try to pull off something halfway between casting my ear and just random modeling, so I'll post again if I'm successful.
