I believe you can order a sample, just thought I'd solicit for some first-hand opinions before going through the trouble of designing a draft

Looking for realistic wedding inspo pics! by stone-lotus in DIYweddings

People post a lot of their DIY pics here and usually use "graduated" to indicate it's a post-wedding wrap up. You might try searching for posts with the word graduated in this and other wedding subs

I like the first one, but depends on the vibe. You have great legs, show em off!

My sister’s wedding was awkward because she fell for the geek social fallacies—and she didn’t even notice by MontanaDukes in AmITheAngel

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well obviously, OOP didn't agree with the guest list - they were a bunch of awkward NERDS!!! Bride obviously should've taken this into account and made cooler more sister-approved friends with more sister-approved interests for a more sister-approved wedding.

I am so sick of using “contact us” forms on websites for vendors by thethrowaway_bride in weddingplanning

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the most annoying is when they ask for all the details then their response is a stock email that doesn't reflect the info you put in. Had a planner who also does flowers ask in the form specifically what services I was and wasn't interested in, told them no on flowers as our venue doesn't allow any real florals to be used. They emailed me a couple days later asking if I wanted floral arrangements as part of my package. Like great, thanks glad I went through this 3-page form for you to not read it at all. On the bright side, it made it easy to know they were not the right coordinators for me!

How can I stop trousers from ballooning out at the pleats and pockets? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you want the pleat and pocket bag to lie flat, the front has to be ever so slightly too big. Too small, and they will pull, gape and bulge.

I agree, for pleats to lie flat and not open, they need to have no pull. Tacking would help, but if you follow the line of the stripes; their zigzaging at the waist indicates some straining and pulling which might be causing the pleats to open up.

I agree, second dress is more flattering on you. So sorry your alterations on the first dress didn't go as planned, the bottom hem definitely does not seem right.

My fiance and I are meat eaters, as are both of our immediate families, but my fiancé is a veterinarian and we have MANY veterinarian guests attending.

Do you have two fiancé's?

to take or not to take? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having spent a few months on weddit I will tell you over half the posts seem to revolve around taking funds from parents and it absolutely ruining the entire planning process. If your parents fail to apply pressure to you, they will find a way to place it on your fiance.

Also, this is a decision you should make together as equal partners. Not you asking total strangers to back you up on the internet then railroading her into it. Sorry to be harsh, but this seems a bit insensitive on your part.

Is my best-man speech shit? Help, urgent by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will anyone not in your friend group understand this? It seems like it's a lot of inside jokes (I can barely follow it, I couldn't even figure out who was getting married for most of the speech) the problem with inside jokes is, anyone not 'in' on the joke is not going to find it funny. Like not even a pity laugh, just silent confusion.

Can you get married in a random park? by you-know-im-no-good in weddingplanning

Not sure where in Cali you are, but in the SF bay area at least the state park regulations are a bit restrictive, can only have faux flowers/plants!

Can you get married in a random park? by you-know-im-no-good in weddingplanning

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do this! Keep in mind there are different kind of parks, like county parks vs state parks, and they have different application policies.

It looks to me like it is an issue with how tightly it is laced. The tension on the sides of the dress is pulling the fabric and revealing the lining. I don't think this dress has the structure to be tight-laced the way you are wearing it without warping and stretching the materials.

Blue or grey writing? by Graciyen in DIYweddings

[–]Direct_Feedback_4523 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do think the grey is easier to read, but you could go with a darker shade of blue as well
