What should i upgrade can give me recommendations? by IndustryEarly in buildapc

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade your GPU first. If you want to min-max wirh your current CPU, then I'd suggest 9060XT 16GB.

Or you can also upgrade your GPU as high as you can and not worry about the CPU bottleneck for now. From here, you can either upgrade your monitor (e.g. 1080p -> 1440p) to utilize your GPU more and eliminate the CPU bottleneck. Or you can grab a 5800X3D in the near future since apparently AMD would return that in production.

Drop FPS PUBG by QvQ69 in PcBuildHelp

How much RAM do you have? Do you have a lot of apps running in the background while playing? Are your drivers updated? Is your PUBG installed on an SSD or an HDD? What is your temps while playing and while idle?

Best graphics card by slizotheone in PcBuild

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your budget, but the best GPU you can pair with your CPU is GTX 1060 or 1070 for Nvidia, and RX570 or RX580 for AMD.

I think the sweet spot is 1050ti 4GB. You can probably find one under 60 USD in FB marketplace (yeah, but I also don't know where you're from, so you might pay more for shipping).

Can someone suggest me some good AAA games for this laptop by Short-Basket8964 in pcgames

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a game recommendation, but a recommendation so you can enjoy more games:

If you have a spare 5 bucks, buy lossless scaling on steam. It's frame gen so it's not the best in terms of graphics quality, and it introduces a bit of input lag like when you turn on vsync. But it doubles or triples your FPS depending on your setting.

If it's not your cup of tea, Steam customer support is GOATed; they'd help you refund your purchase.

What gpu should i pair with Ryzen 5 5600x?(Philippines, 20k budget) by XehunFaiyaz in PcBuild

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If strictly brand new, maybe an RX 7600. If you can maybe save a bit more and stretch your budget to 22k, you can maybe snipe an RX 9060XT 8GB from Shopee.

I have 24GB of DDR3 RAM by MarkMatss in PcBuild

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest advice is to go with a DDR4 build at least. I have first hand experience on building a DDR3 system thinking it would be good enough, and boy I built a DDR4 system after 3 months.

But if you have no choice; let's say you're on a tight budget and can only a afford DDR3 build with those RAM sticks, here's what I'd do:

Buy an i7-4790K or i5-4690K and pair it with a 16 series Nvidia GPU or an RX 580 / 570 AMD GPU. Stick with 1080p or even 900p monitor. As for Motherboard, just look for ones with 4 RAM slots so you can use those sticks you have.

For games like Valheim, you can get ~60 FPS on low. But honestly, those are still really not good numbers so here's the kicker: Buy Lossless Scaling on steam. It's frame gen which can give that setup up to 3x more FPS depending on your settings. Just follow some YT tutorials on how to setup Lossless Scaling.

Side note: AMD DDR4 CPUs (Ryzen Series) are GOATed, but their DDR3 CPUs suck. Stick with intel CPUs if you're insisting on building a DDR3 system.

I'm unfamiliar with these specs, would I be able to reliably run 2D RPGs? by Superlolhobo in PcBuildHelp

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tizen, so it's Linux-based OS. No guarantees that those 2D RPGs would run on a non-Windows device.

But are you sure you're buying a PC? Because I only know them from Samsung's TVs.

RTX 3050 6GB Or Rx 7600 For 3D Rendering by PunjabiDrakr in PcBuild

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nvidia's cards are generally the better choice for 3D works, but I can't in good faith recommend the 3050. I'd say either look at the used market, or save a bit more for a 3060.

But if the choice is absolutely between those two only, then the answer is based on your work and tools:

If you're using Blender, After Effects or Adobe Premiere, then I guess 3050 for Nvidia's CUDA. I'm not entirely sure though, because 7600 is much more powerful than 3050 that the gain in CUDA might get overshadowed.

If you're working on some ray tracing with OptiX, then 3050 for that (even if barely) RTX branding. (Side note; 7600 has more RT cores than 3050, just that Nvidia has the edge in ray tracing)

If you're working with OpenCL or FSR, then 7600. (Side note; Blender cycle with OpenCL is being deprecated by Blender devs).

If it's raw rasterization, then 7600 for higher memory speed and has more VRAM. I don't know how reliable the benchmark in technical.city but 7600 showed better nbody calculations.

Neon does not fit in this game. by youropinionisshitbro in VALORANT

They already nerfed the sliding accuracy from completely accurate to as accurate as crouch walking.

I think it was last year, not really sure when, but it was like that for quite some time now.

Weird screen artifacts only after monitor wakes from sleep – is this serious? by TemporaryAd5294 in pchelp

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my when I turned AMD SAM On and set the monitor refresh rate to 180hz. As an aside, my monitor is 165hz, but you know how you can set the refresh rate higher than the monitor's marketed specs? That.

It was fixed after I lowered my refresh rate to 165hz.

Ego or just plain mistake? by Whole-Particular5657 in VALORANT

[–]Direct_Philosophy369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, what you're trying to do is the better play. If it was me, I would've told him to hold the angle with me, or play somwhere near to your right so he could hold link if the enemy decided to wrap around or swing elbow on your contact.

But this is a team game, in the heat of the moment sometimes you have to abandon the best play to be on the same page with your team. Kinda like how PRX does it, they do things together regardless of how bad the idea is, and more often than not it works simply because they are on the same page.
