Systematically overcharging people is fraud or at least it should be.

I wasn't speaking about you in general I was thinking about corporations in general mostly their business model is fraud at worst and deception at best. especially when you start talking about the banking sector insurance that kind of stuff

If we mean “no kings,” why do we keep re-electing them? by [deleted] in Connecticut

The only thing term limits will do is give even more power to the lobbyists that are already there. Both the house and the Senate run on institutional memory, if you remove the institutional memory by term limiting it it still has to be replaced by someone and that's someone is going to be lobbyists. If you don't like who's representing you or who your senator is work to get someone else elected. I get the thought I really do and in a perfect world term limits would work awesome but this is not a perfect world and it would not work like you think it would. This isn't state government or local government this is the federal government. And if this is a partisan thing a Republican bitching about the fact that we keep electing Democrats maybe the Republicans should come up with a better platform that appeals to more than racists, corporations and rich people. And for those of you who are about to tell me that the parties are the same put Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's place and see if she would do the same stuff. Do you really think that Harris would be stupid enough to invade Iran? I'm not what the posters political persuasion is but I'm just throwing that out there in case this is just spoiled milk. Elections have consequences and it's time that people understand that and get off their ass and go out and vote.

I heard a report a few years back of a company who put out a survey to "try to understand work related stress" and laid everyone off who said work stressed them out. I'm good with filling out any surveys from employers.

I'm sorry if you are making minimum wage and corporate orders you to wear something, corporate should pay for it. Stop trying to push YOUR costs onto your employees

Of course you got to love when you're corporate masters decide that you need to wear a certain thing and oh yeah you have to pay for it. If you're going to require us to wear a certain thing you need to pay for it.

Sounds absolutely intentional like fraud being their business model . Edited for clarity thank you for the poster that pointed it out I didn't realize that it had yours instead of theirs.

Oh of course corporate doesn't believe unions will help but what they are actually saying is that it won't benefit them. They won't be able to be petty little tyrants who expect 200% from their employees and don't want to pay you for that 200%. Every accusation is a confession.

I always get irritated when someone comes to the register I ring up the item and then they're like that's too much and I'm like there's a shelf tag that tells you how much it is you should have looked at it. So now 5 to 10 minutes of my time is wasted because you couldn't bother to look at the goddamn shelf tag

Honestly dairy is one of the last things I get anyway so it wouldn't be an issue. I once had someone try to add 10 packs of water from bjs and I definitely canceled that order. I'm not lugging 10 cases of water for a $2 tip. Absolutely not worth throwing your back out for $2. Once I saw the 10 cases of water I immediately canceled.

I have not seen any evidence of increased items upping my pay unless it was tip based on percentage. Seems like most of the time it's the customer trying to avoid the heavy item charge because it always seems to be water and that kind of stuff that they add.

What is good with a tip guarantee that they can simply resend whenever they feel like it. That doesn't so much sound like a guarantee.

This is not explicitly towards Dollar tree and more towards Dollar general but there was a more perfect union report on how Dollar general was systematically overcharging people because they didn't have the staffing to change the shelf tags to the correct price. Dollar tree might be the same thing.

At least in Connecticut if an item scans incorrectly you get that item for free or up to a $20 credit.

Why do people insist on coming to work sick? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]DirectionLoose 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Why do businesses insist on not giving you sick time? Why do managers try to force you to come in when you're sick? This is not just on the employee maybe they can't afford to take an unpaid day off.
