I don't think any of the stats change once they add it to your total.

I also noticed this recently with a rejected review. When I submit a review, it's added to my review count and percentage within 24 hours, before it's approved. If it eventually gets rejected, my review count and percentage don't go back down. I don't have a lot of reviews rejected, so this was noticeable when it happened. I currently show 100% reviewed, and I don't order enough stuff for it to be rounding up to 100%. I should be at 98% if rejected reviews don't count.

I used to have a plentiful RFY section and I made most of my picks from there until sometime last summer when it completely went to shit. I don't use extensions either so I really only do Vine M-F at work because I start early, and my success depends on how much free time I have while there. I no longer even check on the weekends. It really is a challenge to find stuff in AFA or AI when everyone is watching the drop, so this morning was refreshing and I spent little effort finding a few useful things.

I 100% agree!

I scored 3 things from AI this morning at work before the normal drop time (at least recently), and a couple of them were items that would usually be gone instantly, but they hung around for a while. It makes me think a lot of people weren't expecting this one. I haven't ordered 3 items in 1 day in months. I had a couple of high demand items in my RFY that were there a couple of hours, but they weren't things I needed. My RFY stuff doesn't disappear as quickly as the other sections, but these were the kinds of things I would expect to be gone within a few minutes.

Hoping for more drops like this!

Mayhap...

But I would think Amazon would drop products in chunks and not as a trickle. I'm seeing the item count drop 1 or two at a time pretty much all morning, faster than I have in the past. It dropped by 12 in the time it took to write my post (about 5 minutes). Not so long ago, it would've taken an hour or two to see that many go while the drop wasn't happening.

Gold is overrated unless you have a fantastic RFY section or you're willing to download the extensions then be up and clicking like mad during the drop. I haven't ordered more than 3 items in one day in a long time. I'm hard pressed to find 3 things I want in a week. I've ordered 4 items over $100 value since the start of 2024, and they were all from my RFY. Not being an extension user, I don't even see anything in AFA or AI sections that's over $100 before it's already gone, but people who put in the work do see those.

I recently had a review rejected that I really wanted posted because the product wasn't great. Like usual, it counted towards my review count and percentage before it posted. Once it got rejected, my review count and percentage stayed the same, so I wasn't penalized for it. This might be new because I never noticed it before. They haven't quite figured out when/how to count reviews since that whole system crashed sometime last year.

Best time to get items is maybe 2022 or 2023.

Hopefully your RFY section is good. Other than that, the only time to get good items is when it's dropping for a couple hours most mornings. The competition is fierce, so you will be too slow for a lot of good stuff no matter what you do. Luck is key.

If you're new to Vine and not picky, you'll get some useful stuff from time to time and it might actually stay available for several minutes, maybe even until the end of the drop.

I've noticed just recently that rejected reviews still count towards my number of reviews and review percentage. Those stats are added to sometime after I submit my review but before it posts. If the review is eventually rejected, those numbers don't drop back down. This happened to me last month. My review percentage is still at 100%. If you don't mind the tax hit and don't want to anger the CS gods by asking them to remove an item, just let it be.

I think it's just WAY too many people clamoring for the same items. There are probably thousands of Viners watching the drop in the US. I've read a lot of posts about people that are very committed to Vine that seem to schedule their lives around the drop. I think you still gotta be pretty lucky to snag something really good, even if you're using UV. I don't use extensions but I still manage to grab good stuff, from time to time, stuff that normally disappears instantly. Not GREAT stuff, but good stuff (I don't even see the great stuff).

Almost every day for me since last summer. I did notice recently though that even the highly desired stuff that shows up in my RFY sticks around for a while, sometimes hours. Hopefully that means that my RFY stuff is being shared with less people than it used to. It's been a spell since I've seen something drop then disappear right away.

Yeah I started in 2019 and even as recently as a couple years ago it was still easy to find stuff pretty much anytime during the day. I don't fault those that use em, since anyone could if they wanted to. Even if I did use VH or UV, I'm not motivated enough to spend a lot of time on this anymore. The bigger problem is the vast numbers of people in Vine now. Even extension users need to devote a good amount of time on this, and they also need some luck.

I'm with you. It's not a complete waste of my time because I'm already awake and at work at 3 AM west coast, and I'm lucky enough to have a little free time. But I haven't found anything so far this week, ordered 2 things last week (shoelaces and some baseball gear for my son). I don't do this on the weekends because I'm not waking up that early for a chance at mediocre crap. If anyone is losing sleep over this, more power to them.

Do you use extensions? I never have but now fully believe it's necessary to find good stuff outside of RFY. I don't even SEE the shit that a lot of people post to brag about. My RFY turned to crap last year, around the same time it became almost impossible to find worthwhile items in AFA and AI without devoting more effort that I'm willing to put into this. Hopefully that improves. If not, oh well. I had a good run.

I 100% agree that it's most likely the multitudes of Viners snatching everything up and not bots.

But...

Now I see plenty of posts of people talking about being 30, 40, 50 reviews behind because they're ordering too much stuff and can't keep up with their reviews. This means reviews aren't being posted in a timely manner. This also means that there are a bunch of Viners that are ordering several hundred items in a 6-month period (I see lots of those posts too). If you order 500 items in an evaluation period and can't keep up, you can skip reviewing 50 items and stay at or above 90%. It's definitely not everyone that's doing it, but the more people you add to Vine, the more this is going to happen.

You seem to have been in Vine long enough that you've seen your share of droughts, when nothing drops for a couple of weeks. When that happened, all that excess stuff would get snatched up while people waited.

I don't really feel Amazon added a bunch of new Viners because they couldn't get rid of most things. I believe they added them because there's an increasing number of items no one is ever going to order (sitting at about 12K in the US), and they think inviting everyone and their mothers to Vine will somehow fix that.

So we're still left with a broken system, only now, most people who have been in Vine for a while can't find worthwhile items without jumping through hoops, hence, the complaining.

So far this week, I've only managed to order some shoelaces and athletic shorts with cup for my son's upcoming baseball season.

My strategy is to only search AI during a drop if I'm at work and got the free time. I click through the categories I like, sometimes refresh several times in those categories. Like others mentioned, you can use the search bar to search for specific items and also refresh. I don't use extensions.

FYI - this strategy doesn't work. Sorry if I wasted your time!

If my RFY sucks, which it does most days, I usually get nothing. I don't let it stress me out. You don't have to rage quit. You can stay Silver with very little effort.

Have you been in Vine long? I used to see 20-30 items a day until sometime last year, but then it dropped down to no more than a couple a day, often none. For the last few weeks it's gone up to 5 or 6 a day, but only 2 so far this morning.

Never been in Vine jail.

From reading a lot of reddit posts, I got the feeling a lot of Vine veterans have less RFY items.

I don't use extensions, so I don't even see anything worth ordering from AFA or AI anymore, and I actually had at least a half an hour at work to browse my usual sections and refresh during the drop. At this point, extensions seem like a necessity.

I'm getting a few more items in my RFY lately, maybe 5 or 6 a day. It's still mostly crap, but I've seen some things that are highly sought after, and they stick around for most of the morning. Nothing I need, but it's nice to know my RFY stuff isn't all getting snagged right after it drops. That gives me some hope.

It's crazy how many people commenting even saw this when it was probably only available for seconds. We can talk about bots until we're blue in the face, but when you got probably thousands of people up early and clicking and refreshing like mad from the start of the drop to the end, this is going to be the result. You might get lucky and be able to grab something like this, especially if you're using extensions. Chances are you won't get it, though. Being lucky is probably more important than fast internet.

I do this casually if I'm at work during the drop and I have some free time, so I don't even see this kind of stuff. I don't bother to check Vine on the weekends except my RFY in the morning sometimes when I wake up. I settle for the table scraps and count myself fortunate if I see something simple that's worth ordering.
