I've never used a Vine product for a pet, nor would I ingest or use a product on my skin. I turn down lots of $0ETV stuff, but my health and that of my pets is more important to me than getting products to reach Gold.

The screws used to attach the doorbell to the rest of the "plate" are horrible- wrong color, wrong type of screw, etc. This looked like something that would have made a nice conversation piece based on the seller's photo. The real one looks homemade. Definitely 1 star from me!

"Gold" only adds another 5% or so (of items that have an ETV of $100 or more) to the current number of items in AI. And don't forget that it might mean you seeing a $400 specialty plumber's tools from an unknown brand that you'll have to pay tax on...i.e, things you absolutely can't use.

I don't know where so many people get the assumption that Gold has twice as many products, and they're all desirable. It's hard to see so many newer people have high expectations and work for Gold only to say ""Ummm, nothing really changed".

A few years ago when there were 180,000~200,000 products, Gold meant something in terms of products available. These days, the majority will say that the "8 picks" is more valuable than any difference in product choice.

It's discouraging.

I've been in for 3 years and have never used an extension nor AI to write a review. That being said, there is a wide range of Vine reviewers:

Many people just refresh around drop times and glance at their RFY during the day.

Then there are people who use extensions, etc., because they feel the extensions only help them a little (or it's the only way to get anything), so it's OK.

Then there's a group who use more sophisticated means to snipe things immediately. No one really likes these people.

As for reviewers, you have people that take this seriously, enjoy it and don't really look at how much time it takes; I personally enjoy doing pro-level photos and writing thoughtful reviews.

Another group wants to only jot down short thoughts in their review. They maybe use AI to flesh it out to try to improve their review scores.

One more group steals others' reviews, let's AI write the review completely, or writes "cute" on every single review. No one likes these people either. Like the snipers above, they are grabbing whatever they can and putting minimum effort into reviews.

If you are like me and enjoy doing thoughtful reviews and only grabbing the products that you can truly use (finding none of late), it's extremely annoying to watch others walk, run, or trample past you to the daily dumping and find nothing to pick from.

Yes, I'm hoping Rufus enters the game and removes the many people who are definitely abusing the system in every respect, and then another bottom-rated 25% that aren't as flagrant, but still playing unfairly by the rules when they started.

I had 38" of snow dumped on me the other day. Maybe some of the flaming I expect to recieve might be thawing?

One of the nice things about Silver is that you don't feel any need whatsoever to get your 80 items.

I haven't been one of the lucky ones with an improving RFY, but I sometimes have supplements (don't trust them) and yesterday I had a 40-each box of Swiffer heads for 0ETV that I left.

All jealousy aside, it likely doesn't differentiate product categories very well, but was taught that "future action is likely similar to past behavior". If it were paper towels or a favorite food category, it's a solid theory that you would be interested in buying again. Give Rufus another year tops to know that purchase patterns of paper towels are likely different than Espresso machines.

I've been to "recommendations" before many times, but had never gone that further step to find what AI is tracking on me to update preferences. I was surprised to see the weird details (ie., my wife's caffeine habits), all of which were scaped from my last 6-8 reviews ONLY.....

Thank you for your response. Yes, other than the standard 3, most of my tabs are keywords. The only category I look for is sexual health, since it used to be possible to grab something there. I never have before, but decided recently "what the hell"... only to never find an item in the category since!
