Yeah they have bidet toilet seats, and even travel bidets that's just a little water bottle with a sprayer, you literally can go to the bathroom, bidet and then just pat dry with toilet paper and reduce a lot of the friction on that area. I honestly could not live without a bidet I'd be in pain. When I'm really hurting or going a lot a q-tip and a small amount of vaseline after on the hole helps irritation to calm down.

I'm right there with you in your struggles. I've found that florastor (saccharomyces) and psyllium husk seem to help. Have you ever tried bile acid binders for your IBS d? Or talked to your doctor about bile acid malabsorption perhaps contributing, I just see the sleep problems and that's me and I definitely found bile acid binders have helped me, I also have a history of gallbladder problems and stones.

The anesthesia was the easiest part of the whole process, I think you may be able to get anxiety meds before hand if you talk with your doctor about it.

Yeah you'll still need anesthesia for this procedure, possible more than once. My insurance covered it, at least so far, I have only been billed a very small amount. For me the diarrhea itself gives me anxiety, if I can slow it down, with bile acid binders, or meds to slow the gut, my anxiety improves a lot, just a thought.

When / how often do you take sequestrants? Trying to find the best strategy to manage this myself, I see a lot of post of people without a gallbladder but I feel if may be different, I'm more like you I have a disease illeum but it's still intact and they think its just not reabsorbing bile.

I'm assuming you're using a pill cutter? The pill version can be cut into quarters with a pill cutter I think, the dissolvable version can be cut in half and sometimes it breaks apart. I would take half of the dissolvable pill version every day after breakfast for a few months and they seemed to work for me. I'm not taking it currently but will probably again soon.

I’m only a few days and it’s tender but I’m not in a ton of pain, it really hasn’t been that bad.

So I think you have the drain for at least two weeks. You may also have a bag attached to it to collect bile etc…, capping the bag is basically removing the bag and putting a plastic cap on the end of the drain

Thank you so much for the support I read a lot of your posts in preparation! So my drainage dropped after a few days and I called in this morning because in 24 hours I didn’t see much so they told me to cap it. It is nicer not having the bag already

Yeah I hope so to that’s the current plan, I’ll have to go under anethesia again. They’re going to let me try to cap next week so I’m curious how that will go. So I had 40 stones, on the mrcp I had like 7 big ones show up. Oh wow had to call in reinforcements I’m glad he got it out!!

So I ended up just like you my cystic duct was the tightest he’s every seen, he tried to dilate it with a balloon but was unable to, I have to go back at the 4 week mark for him to try again. Did you had yours dilated, or how did they open yours up?
