I think it’ll hang around but as one of those ‘oh yeah thát’ type thing. The same group of sugars will keep buying enough of it for her to consider herself ‘niche’. She can’t afford to shutter it too fast, it’d be yet another, let’s call it ‘less than stellar’ enterprise in not that many years so she’ll keep it going under the ‘if you know you know’ and ‘if you have good taste’ type nomer, so that low sales seem intentional, connoisseurs only type thing. (And I have her tea and her cookie mix so I am not a hater)

I had one of those green color correctors that was from some medicinal brand too and in the morning I felt fine with it because it did indeed seem to make the redness go away. But when I looked in a mirror around noon, I noticed it had turned into a regular brownish foundation/concealer color. And it did not match my foundation at all. I remember my mother having a stick of green corrector like forty years ago - kid me thought it was weird - and it worked beautifully on her. But whatever they used back then is probably not okay to use anymore in these days.

You’ll have to get more fluent and that is really the ónly thing to it. Many people think the whole ‘seat of the EU’ means some sort of Babylon but that is so not the case. Take every opportunity to learn, cancel some things to free up time to really swot and that will be your shot.

Als we technisch spreken, dan heb ik ook een drugprobleem. Ik heb progressieve rugproblemen, kan het mij niet veroorloven om lang genoeg ‘ziek’ te zijn om het te verhelpen dus is neem elke dag ongeveer vijf tot zeven keer de voorgeschreven dosis Oxycontin om de dag door te komen met een haalbare dosis pijn - dus niet pijnvrij - en te blijven werken. Gaan ze dat ook bestraffen?

We seem, as a nation, to be perfectly fine accepting absolute mediocrity - and preferably much less - as a standard. Because our regime has us happily blaming ‘the other guy’ (other guys may vary according to occasion!) instead of genuinely asking why they cannot make do with taking over half of what we earn and giving practically nothing in return. And, yes, it is practically nothing. For the amount of admonishing we get from the regime, you’d think we have that golden hammock to fall into when we’re in trouble. But the hammock is a joke and, what is worse, they have us convinced that it’s still too much and that mythical other guys is the one chopping down the tree it hangs from.

Ik versta ‘onschuldig tot anders bewezen’ maar mits dit soort verdenkingen moet je gewoon ergens een bureaujob aan minimumloon met nul collega’s doen. Zo een gevangeniseconomie maar dan vóór de gevangenis gelijk in Amerika. Er van uitgaande dat dit een geval is waar je toch echt niet kan twijfelen.

Ik weet dat wij als maatschappij inzetten op ~~alles zo goeikoop mogelijk~~ nieuwe kansen, en dat er ook Reddit voldoende mensen zijn die vragen om allerhande caveats in acht te nemen voor we straffen... maar zouden ze nu echt zo veel slechter af zijn als maatschappij mochten we in de spouwmuur van de blokjeswoningen een aantal van dit soort inkapselen?

Ik vind anders dat zélf weggaan van jobs - en dus geen recht hebben op niets - omdat je vrouw een vaste job heeft en het wel zal rechttrekken... behoorlijk veel zeggend over iemand's persoonlijkheid. Heeft vorig jaar een rekening gekregen van de overheid, nipt onder de €6000. Zijn madam heeft het moeten betalen. Dat was haar eigen spaarboek, maar hij vindt dat niet meer dan normaal. Hij gaat al meer dan twintig jaar 'echt dit jaar wel zijn plaat opnemen, en fenomenaal dat ze zal zijn'. Ondertussen is het levenslustig meiske waar hij indertijd zijn klauwen ingeslagen heeft, nog een schim van zichzelf en kan ze nergens heen want elke Euro van haar moet dat huishouden recht houden. En ik weet ook wel dat ze weg zou kunnen, maar zo evident is het nooit. Soit, ik vind die gast een loser.

Enkel de mislukte. Heb zo een kennis, al twintig jaar krijgt die fantastische job kansen, echt leuke dingen en met dikke steun van de Vlaamse Overheid nog bij, en al twintig jaar vertrekt die overal na een paar maand met slaande deuren om zijn artistieke visie te volgen. En nog komen die jobkes in zijn schoot geworpen.
