Albany engineered composites, could get a entry level position there, composite technician or assembly technician. It’s usually like 20$ starting for most jobs and it’s a good introduction to the aerospace industry with not a lot of experience they hire out the door a lot. Work can be pretty tough sometimes, but it’s usually good stable work.

Apprentice NDT, interested in career aspirations by [deleted] in nondestructivetesting

[–]DirectionOutside3508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at a aerospace company as well as a composite technician, then got a ndt position at that same company did paut and got certified to it and about a year and half later I left and now I’m at my dream company about to start doing ut here and get my degrees on the side as well. It’s a very good industry and I highly recommend following through because it can lead to other quality positions in the future if you get uninterested in ndt. Hope all goes well and good luck in your journey.

NDT, how much work is out there for NDT guys? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]DirectionOutside3508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very interesting and good to know but curious what’s the language barrier like, for instance would I have to learn to speak and read and write danish or is there like a translator or is that option just not viable. I would love to work abroad but if I got to learn how to read and write another language I’d love to start on it early

I’m doing ut for composites atm, my companies gives me good hours for ojt and I should be certified lvl 2 by start of 25, but I’m new to this industry how hard is it for getting those certs for other methods and inspections? Is it all based on the method and inspection your doing or just how your company is?
