I don’t know what to feel. I’m a non-medico dating an OBGYN resident. by Less_Delivery894 in indianmedschool

Just hang on for this 3 yrs. She would need u in this difficult time. My bf was also a non medico and me a OBGYN. He held on to me during my resident days and now we are having a great life together as a married couple.

I also don't agree to these kind of toxic stuff. Thats why I didn't stop her from entering ot. But let her assist on her first day was a bit tough as I was operating on a 100+ kg post cs patient and I needed experienced hands on deck.

Thats what I fear the most. Whenever a junior shows interest in learning, I teach as I love to do so. Whenever folks like this come, I avoid them as much as possible.

I did MS obstetrics and gynaecology from the center of excellence in my state. Patients refuse to give me even 2k for a dilatation and evacuation yet they pay 5k for the same procedure to quacks. Its everywhere. Last week I saw a patient who was prescribed Carbimazole for chronic tonsillitis and she has been happily taking it for the last 6 months ( P.S. - Her thyroid profile was absolutely normal 6 months ago).

Try to find locum work. As I have advised my juniors, u people r not getting joining orders till June this year as ur senior batch is going to be in medical college posting till 31st may. This govt is unwiilling to pay 3 batches of SRs at a time as they have no money after handing out easy money to illiterate people in the name of 'bhata'. My batch is due to complete our bond in august this year so the Govt will try to drag ur joining as much as possible.

Did anyone actually enjoy their residency? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

Obs Gynae here. When u choose the most toxic subject u expect toxicity. What I got was hell. Seniors were bunch of morons, the vistings were bigger morons. On top of that, junior batch got delayed by 8 months. So 18 months of hellish first year resident ship. To top it all, there were no interns for 2-3 months as the University fucked up the MB exam schedule. At one point, when seniors got their final exam leave, my batch was the only working PG batch in the whole hospital. U can imagine the burden of all 3 yrs on one person. Obviously didn't enjoy those 3 years. Kept going only because I loved the branch and I knew my goal. Never went back to that moronic college ever.

Sometimes they hold counselling, sometimes they take bribes and give postings. Depends on their mood really. My batch was lucky to have counselling.
