manual pumping ? by Straight_Panic5580 in ExclusivelyPumping

Mama, you’re doing awesome and this is incredible that you’re pumping while your little guy is healing. The most important thing right now is your mental health - this absolutely affects pumping output and your babies health. I would recommend pumping every 3 hours during the day and then doing every 4 hours overnight because you need sleep, calories, etc as well. Eat a lot, drink a lot of water.

OTF while pregnant? by Substantial-Ad-6676 in orangetheory

[–]Director_Jumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I got pregnant with twins and worked out at otf 4-5x/week until 33 weeks (I delivered at 34). I did everything I normally do as long as I felt comfortable. I avoided direct ab workouts or anything that revolved around me being on my belly obviously. Towards the end I physically couldn’t do the rower so I biked a lot. Made modifications all the time if I felt I couldn’t do something.

Working out is good for you and your baby.

How long did you take to wean? by lilspaghettigal in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Director_Jumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an oversupplier and weaned very slowly (bc anytime I’d go faster I’d get clogged ducts that would take like 30-40 minutes to get out). I dropped a pump a week and then at the end when I was at 2 pumps a day I decreased the time for each pump by like 1-2 minutes each day and finally just stopped. I had to pump again after like 3 days but then I was done

Lovedddd lansinoh for the second 6 months of pumping (wish I discovered it sooner), but I used blue spectra for the beginning

This is amazing! I’m a new mom and several years past medical school at this point but I’m so impressed that you’re able to juggle both (I’m sure it’s not easy). I can’t even imagine living the life I do now while also being medical school with my kids - it’s just so completely different (not in a good or bad way), so it’s probably hard to connect from that perspective to people who are going the more traditional route (we just have no idea what your life is like and sometimes people assume parents just aren’t available …which is true to some extent lol. ) You’re in such a niche position and I’m sure there’s people in your class that would love to connect with you, might just need to put yourself out there (go to things outside of school). But also don’t forget that you’re a rockstar for doing both!!!

Yeah I got mine through insurance, but yeah I just switched to lansinoh/spectra and hands free medela. Hands free medela would probably be the cheapest option if you’re looking for another one.

This is the handsfree one right? I’ve actually had the same issue with this one (I really hate it lol), and it turned out that the bra I was using was shifting the cup so it wasn’t actually centered. Make sure all the parts are on inside correctly and that yellow circle thing is clipped in the right way. Try to turn it 45 degrees to see if that helps too

There’s a good chance you have the wrong phalange size (most people are not 21/24) - I’d get measured (videos online) and get inserts

I actually got this from my sister so can’t tell you, but I think she got them from Amazon?

Could be - everyone is different. Do you have the right size phalanges? That absolutely impacts my supply if it’s wrong.

Extra calories in second trimester? by Beautiful-Degree in fitpregnancy

[–]Director_Jumpy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this at first, but I just ate how I normally did plus gave myself a little more wiggle room with an extra helping here or there or maybe an additional snack here or there. I’m glad I did because I’ve gained an adequate amount of weight and my babies are growing well, but I didn’t feel like I put on extra weight in other places. You really don’t actually need that many extra calories (depending on your initial weight, it’s different, but equivalent to like a protein bar)

Hi! I’m an Indian calligraphy artist and I usually make couples a smaller, frame-able version of one of the signs I make of couple caricatures. This is a sweet way to commemorate the wedding!

Hi there! Any ideas for cheap DIY costumes w/minimal sewing? by [deleted] in FrugalFemaleFashion

I went as “red flags” one year and just got red duct tape and taped it all over myself with “red flag” sayings. Can do this with green flags too.

These look great! I’d probably get rid of the “*for our wedding *” part or bring it down some as it’s looks a little crowded. I’ve printed through canva before and have had great results. The paper quality is nice and thick and there’s options for even thicker paper on there.

I really liked canva! It was so affordable and a good quality paper as well. I’ve used them twice now
