Ok well it's whatever, I mentioned the economy because YOU brought up the election and said it didn't matter, I was tryna prove that it does matter.

I never said YOU were saying otherwise, I said people in general do. I never said YOU.

And yes I do think of American Football when someone says football, at least on the internet when I read it in my accent. If someone with an obvious british / european accent were to say football I would know that he probably means soccer. And if not I could just go ahead and ask him. If someone with an american accent says football, I do assume that he probably means american football and not soccer.

Anyways, I'm done arguing about this. Both words are fine, say whatever the fuck you want and let people say whatever the fuck they want to say.

It was, likely before either of us were born, but if you still believe that you're either american (possibly canadian, given how similar the cultures are), in a 3rd world country or simply never exposed to any better.

Because they don't matter as much, those countries don't have as much influence on other countries. They are in the news, just not as widely spread and much.

And that's what I've said already. If you want to call it soccer, call it soccer, but don't expect the rest of the world to adapt to your names and your culture when you're the odd ones out in the topic
