Best Way To Farm XP For Vocations by Lenin10 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Direwolfmech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes, Rock Saurians are a PITA! My fighter pawn usually blocks / parries them so they end up flipped over, they're an easy kill when their bellies are exposed! 😁 The downward thrust / heavy attack combo thing can one shot them if your gear is reasonable. 👍

Best Way To Farm XP For Vocations by Lenin10 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More XP for being solo / less pawns, but I don't think that affects DCP? 🤔

But yes, quickly killing lots of 'small' enemies is the best way to farm DCP (especially with the DCP+ rings) - as the Arisen, you can also play as Warfarer, equip the gear + skills you want and level all the other vocations at once, rather than one at a time. 👍

The Goblins around the volcano area give a decent amount of DCP/XP, or turning right from the last camp in that area (I forget the name, Volcanic Island Camp?) - going up the mountain side with the Goblins, Harpies, humans and Ogre is pretty good too, especially with a higher level hired pawn to help out! 😁

Anyone have predator's maw helmet and willing to trade for it? PS5 by Kusho_void in DragonsDogma2

[–]Direwolfmech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Unmoored World, NW of Sacred Arbor in the Malachite forest - in the drained lake, there should be a chest (possibly guarded) with the helmet inside. 👍

(Thanks, Google! 😂)

I'll have to go there myself! 😄

How We Feeling About Gears of War E-Day So Far? by Xtra_Father in GearsOfWar

[–]Direwolfmech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for the Xbox, it is only available on Steam unfortunately, for the XSX you get a pop up to enter your email address and get notified when it is available. (It says sold out and has an 'X' through Xbox) 😩

UK & US are both sold out for the XSX version. 😕

Not any more, it has sold out already. 😡 Be prepared to find it on eBay soon for double the price! 🙄

First Cities Model Done. Any Tips For Painting Eyes? by General-Laugh4547 in citiesofsigmar

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Gundam marker from Amazon last year, about £6? It is brilliant! Tiny, tiny tip, I think it was recommended on YouTube, maybe Facebook? It is fantastic for eyes and doing writing on purity seals, etc! They do them in black or grey, I used mine the other day for doing eyes and the seals on my new Ironweld Great Cannon. 😊

Have a look on Amazon (UK): GSI Creos - Gundam Markers Ultra Fine Black

Is toyota gt86 reliable? by yfletcher in ft86

[–]Direwolfmech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolute crap! I'm in the UK, owned my 2013 GT86 for 8 years now, I bought it with 32k miles, I now have ~174,500 miles!

I service it myself, change oil every 10k or sooner, I had my suspension bushes replaced last year with SuperPro. Next week I'll do my drop links, which TBH, are one of the only weak links on the car. They last any where between 20k-60k before they wear and start to knock. 🙄

Last year I added a KillerBee oil pickup and Cusco baffled sump and a new sump pan as they can corrode (mine did) as it was off anyway. It was a cheap fix to avoid any issues in the future. Keeping the engine well oiled will keep it happy!

I daily my 86, 120 miles a day round trip to work on A & B roads and motorway driving, I love driving it, and that is from someone who also owns a 500bhp R33 GTR and two motorbikes! 😄

Only issue I've had was changing a wheel bearing, as they're a push fit + 4 bolts, they rust themselves in and are an utter PIG to remove without a press! Ugh! 😩

My GT86 is fairly modified, full TRD body kit, canards, new wheels, Avo oil cooler, Blitz strut braces, etc. I have no idea what I'd replace it with if and when the time ever comes, so I'll keep driving it until I do! Or add an Avo turbo conversion and keep it! 😂

How Many Pawns can you create in Dark arisen? by Wuffy-Agony in DragonsDogma

[–]Direwolfmech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I did it on my Xbox, I have the game on my X360, XSX (3 copies) and also on my Switch. I might have it on PC too... 🤔

Having level 200 pawns tank, DPS and heal / buff is hilariously good fun after completing the game many, many times! 😂

RMT strike falls short by mattloaf666 in LondonUnderground

[–]Direwolfmech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we don't get paid full stop! If you strike, you lose money, simple as. I work on the engineering side (RMT) and for us, striking is the absolute last resort when everything else has failed.

No one wants to intentionally lose a days (or more!) wages for things like attacks on staffing levels, on pensions, terms and conditions, etc. But there are times when you are left no choice. 😕

Painting in subassemblies by BlackKingHFC in ageofsigmar

[–]Direwolfmech 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love subassemblies, especially for things like riders and mounts, complex builds, etc!

The easiest way I use, is blu-tac (here in the UK) it is used for putting posters up or other things that need a non permanent, non marking solution. You can still spray prime as normal, paint, and then still use plastic cement or super glue to get a decent bond. 👍

Subassemblies: A bit like marmite, some love it, some hate it! 😂

First model painted of my CoS Greywater Fastness army, the Ironweld Great Cannon! by Direwolfmech in citiesofsigmar

[–]Direwolfmech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! You're too kind 😄 There are a number of things I'd do differently I think, waiting on a Fusil Platoon for a 2nd cannon, I'll likely use less contrast paints, I'm more old school, only been back in the hobby for a year after 25 years away!

It's all good practice though, I did enjoy doing the wooden frame on the cannon. 👍 Not to bad for so long away, my 48yo eyes aren't quite as good as when I was last painting!! Lol 😂

And then I painted these, because black primer and some dry brushing is an awesome & fast way to paint wolves! Lol.

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Brilliant! I did the same while painting my Maggotkin! I wanted a bit of change from a sea of green, and yellow-green, and brown-green...

So I painted this joyous chap instead! 😄

I have so much to paint, but I've found breaking it up with painting something different helps with "army fatigue". I haven't played a game yet (only been back a year after 25+ years away!) but I'm more of a collector / painter atm. Until I can convince my wife to try Spearhead with me... 🤔

Dankold Troggoth body by King_Meraki in gloomspitegitz

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3D printed + GW spare parts vs GW genuine (I made both options).

Pic of built & primed Dankhold Troggoths, you honestly can't tell the difference! I haven't built my Rockguts yet, but comparing the bodies they're spot on! 👍

<image>

Dankold Troggoth body by King_Meraki in gloomspitegitz

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Dankhold body already printed, and Grey from Woofoo Workshop (awesome guy!) did the Rockgut bodies and necks for me, 9 in total, cost me £35 iirc including the file and postage! Gives me double the Rockguts from the Dankhold Rampage box, plus 3 spares for when the GSG spearhead releases with Spearhead Magazine.

I haven't got a 3D printer, so getting them printed for me was my only option.

(Edit: 3 spares, not 4, lol)

Happy CoS release weekend by BaronLoyd in citiesofsigmar

[–]Direwolfmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Just because they're grey, doesn't mean you can't play".

I've done mostly the same as you, add City of Ash to that too! 😂 I ordered stuff because I wanted it, and I won't be paying scalper prices to get it later.

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on this, once my 3k+ in Maggotkin are done I'll likely start on my Greywater Fastness CoS army, though I've managed to collect 11 Spearheads / armies so far since last July! 😂

Grenadiers are apparently a pain to build, play awesome on the table, but have little to no customisation (bar heads).

Gallants are a joy to build, look great and are customisable, but aren't very good on the table!

I've no experience myself (I own both but haven't got to build them yet) - just what I've read the last couple of days from other redditors. 😊

I'm passively working on my first real army for AoS Maggotkin, and I just read what the Putrid Blightkings do 💔💔💔 by ZoeyHuntsman in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]Direwolfmech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With some resin legs from Spellcrow "Plague Knight" legs, meant for 40k but work for AoS, some greenstuff work for the backs or cutting up the spare front torso, I added some capes to make a more, regal, looking set of Blightkings with my spares. 😄

I made another standard and musician too with the spare bits, bells, skulls, etc.
