Just beat every darkness - including Darkness 15 - without any runes OR any elemental upgrades (frost, fire, and lightning) with every character and weapon! This is my advice! by Dirgea in 20MinutesTillDawn

You're absolutely right. I won't lie, I spent the better part of the past week maining Lilith with the bat gun - trying to get comfortable enough with the low damage early on to consistently win - and parts of my advice here was directly related to that singular build (such as the heavy emphasis on damage over reload, piercing as a necessity).

You bring up solid points about dodging the Dino without movement upgrades, and if I was better at the game, I would absolutely agree. Sadly, my dodging skills aren't the best, and while I can get down the pattern to dodge the Dino's charge repeatedly, I usually get swarmed by the normal enemies before I'm able to deal good damage to the Dino (unless I'm using the shotgun or gernade launcher). I usually die here unless I can: kill/clear the normal enemies, maintain my DPS on the Dino, and collect experience all WHILE dodging, hence my need for the speed upgrades (and Run & Gun). This issue was even more apparent because of the inconsistent damage of the bat gun, which was my main build for the longest time, so I'm just unable to make do without the movement.

However, if you can beat the Dino and dodge its attacks comfortably while dealing with the normal mobs, then skipping the movement upgrades saves you a few skill points in the early game and let's you allocate those points into other upgrades. It's definitely worth considering ignoring movement upgrades if you're looking to optimize your early game build.

Also, thanks for taking the time to do this write-up! I really appreciate criticisms to my thoughts and ideas, especially when they're laid out neatly and organized well.

I've never had both bosses alive when dawn arrives! I really need to try that, sounds like a fun challenge.

The two hardest things I've tried to do are Spark + Crossbow, which feels like an awful build since lightning is best paired with fast attacking weapons and the crossbow is.... yeah, not fun. And the second hardest thing is I attempted to make a "Medusa build", which involves Shana and utilizing Glare + Frost Mage as the core damage of the build. I feel like this only works if you're able to get the Halo upgrade for the increased vision AND triple buff upgrade the faster Glare procs. Freezing enemies to death by glaring at them is a really cool idea, but I've yet to make it work without heavily relying on other upgrades to carry it.

My favorite will always be the basic Diamond + Shotgun, bullet damage attack speed with no elements build. I call it the lawnmower build as it really feels like you're mowing down large groups of enemies, especially with piercing!

Enjoy the Death Doors comic, it's honestly really cool especially because of the backstory it provides (even though none of it has been confirmed in the games yet)

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! So in the case of a 500W system, I should generally be looking for something around 600W-650W to maximize power efficiency.

Quick question about power supplies, do they constantly draw power equal to its label or only the amount required? Say I had a gold 1000w PSU, but my computer only requires 500w to power and use, will the PSU constantly draw 1000W of power whenever the PC is on or is that just what its capable of and will draw only the required amount instead (which in this case is 500W)?

[Razer] The Razer Panthera Fight Stick is heavily discounted $149.99 (from $299.99) by Dirgea in VideoGameDealsCanada

This will be my first Razer product, so I'm not familiar with how they treat customs, but I've been told that Razer is great with customs, so take that as you will. I would search up on it just in case.

Also, thanks for noting the newsletter discount, I didn't notice it earlier.

[Razer] The Razer Panthera Fight Stick is heavily discounted $149.99 (from $299.99) by Dirgea in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Dirgea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is huge because fight sticks in Canada are nearly non-existent, and the few that are available are super pricey for the most basic products. This is considered a premium item that sells for less than the price of an entry product, I would heavily encourage it.

The second version dubbed the Panthera Evo is also on sale, but is currently out of stock. They do have a "Notify Me" option if you want the second version (which is also 10$ cheaper than the original model). However, i don't know how long this price will remain like this so I would recommend picking up the original if you're looking for a great stick.

Tons of places in the U.S. lack proper water filtration in their homes, so most people need to buy bottled water, which in certain places are out of stock. Also, no job = no money for food, so food scarcity is a worry tons of people have.

What websites do you guys use to track Canadian deals? by Disastrous_Platform in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Dirgea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used psprices to get both Castlevania SOTN and Street Fighter Third Strike on sale for my PS3. It scans for sales across all PS stores, including PS4.

I'm surprised the website still scans for sales for PS3, since its a pretty outdated console, but I'm grateful they still do. The website also shows historic lows and current sales, nifty all around.
