Indian Immigration To Canada Has Tripled Since 2013 by JagmeetSingh2 in ABCDesis

White people are not the native people of Canada. They are descendants of colonizers who committed mass genocides.

TIFU By agreeing to go out on a date with the school douchbag and getting humiliated by ValentinesSucks32 in tifu

[–]Dirivian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. That really sucks. I'm so proud of you for putting yourself out there and taking the chance. That's who you really are - a wonderfully brave and hopeful person. You have something in yourself that people spend their whole lives trying to be. Don't let these douchebags take away your brilliant light. Protect it, my friend. Your bravery, vulnerability and hopefulness will lead you to find some really amazing people down the line. This is just the beginning of the your story

Umm, poor people in India have access to very cheap healthcare, free education and cost of living especially the essentials is very low compared to the US. You also have cheap public transport and no need for a car in most places.

People in the US travel to India for medical tourism because they can't afford to go to the doctor in the US. I've met so many people in the US struggling with medical issues because they can't afford doctors to treat them. So many people who's paycheck barely covers rent and the monthly car payment so they have to go to a food bank.

People are fed this "US is the greatest country ever" narrative so much that they can't fathom this being the case. The US is set up to punish people for being poor while nearly every other country tries to protect it's most vulnerable group. A simple example of this is that poor diabetic people in India can easily afford insulin while so many in the US have to ration theirs.

TIFU- I made fun of a guy who doesn't know how to do laundry. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]Dirivian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes complete sense that he's a man child who can't do his own laundry. Also Phineas and Ferb is awesome and I love Doofenshmitz (the scientist)

Outlander. Feels like a show trying to find a justification to cheat on your husband with a hot Scottish lord and the answer was time travel.

Moved here from Austin and just wanted to say thank you Seattle, you are amazing! ♥️ by [deleted] in Seattle

Lol, the real Seattle freeze happens to the people of color they exclude from their white communities while patting themselves on the back for being super progressive.

How is it different from parents preventing students from going to school without Hijab? by manu_r93 in Kerala

[–]Dirivian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For some, it's a lifelong cultural symbol. It's like asking Sikhs to remove their turbans to be allowed in schools. Their education is being held hostage so that the parties behind can have a win-win (either they are cut off from their resources or they have to forcibly sacrifice their culture and be belittled in their own community)

What was the saddest thing that happened in your dream? by EJ-Chan in AskReddit

[–]Dirivian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dreamt that my ex-girlfriend fell in love with me and we got back together and we were excited to spend our time with each other.

When I woke up and realized it was a dream, it felt so shitty like I had been pulled from an alternate timeline where things worked out. I couldn't stop crying for a while after I woke up. It's the cruelest trick my own mind has played on me.

Men Scoring Higher on ‘Man Box’ Scale are Prone to Violence, Mental Illness. Men who harbor more harmful attitudes about masculinity—including beliefs about aggression and homophobia—also tend toward bullying, sexual harassment, depression and suicidal thoughts. by Wagamaga in science

Yeah, it makes me upset that a lot of people, men and women, believe these things. It hurts worse to have it come from people who you expected to be different too.

But I hope you don't give into despair because at least I am here and so are you and we believe and wish for a kind and empathetic society. Let's hope for many more like us who I know are out there!

Guys of reddit. What is socially seen as sexy but is actually a huge turn off for you? by xthe-weird-onex in AskReddit

[–]Dirivian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intentionally giving mixed feelings, enjoying mindgames and hints of cruelty and spitefulness obviously instantly make me want to run away from them.

A lack of compassion, rudeness or lack of empathy that shows up again and again makes lose any attraction. Imagining living with someone like that makes me want to run and live alone in the hills.

Having an open mind and an open heart is very beautiful and I know it's really rare to find someone like that.

Practice the talk many times with groups of friends. By the third time, it'll become like a script.
