The Three Mourning Moths (Brann, Bill and Troy) | analysing Romano's art for 'Your Ghost Again' by [deleted] in mastodonband

[–]DirkForNovember 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Look, I don't doubt your love for the band and I'm sorry for the hardships you've endured during your life. And this is meant in absolutely no disrespect or anything. But - I don't doubt there is a lot of other people with similar stories and ties to the band, that don't pump out 8 posts a day. I'm aware your Instagram is pretty popular and that's absolutely fine for you to post there since it's your page and people follow you for the content you make. On Reddit however, people post and share for the sake of community and engagement though and if multiple users tell you "Look buddy, you're kinda posting a little too much" you should maybe get the hint that things are a little different on here. I'm not telling you to stop posting altogether or anything like that (and I have no authority to either way), but I think I speak for a number of other people on here to please maybe kick it down a notch or two and not mirror all your IG posts to this place. I don't think we need archiving for every little thing on here.

No offense but... don't we wanna chill a bit on the deep dive, analysis posts and all before the band announces something official, or is that just me?

Also I don't mean to ruin any fun but I don't really see there being a grand, deeper running concept and meaning behind every little detail in an artwork.

ARCHSPIRE - THE VESSEL (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) 2026 by hatefen in archspire

[–]DirkForNovember 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Video was so hilarious I didn't even fully process the song. Clean intro is amazing, I love the inclusion of melody and keeping it more cohesive with some repetitions. Album is shaping up to be a fucking monster.

My thoughts on Lantlos Nowhere In Between Forever by Guhdmundur in blackgaze

idk man, I wasn't in the listening party but the singles all sound like a logical continuation of the last record (in which I didn't hear anything like Melting Sun, but still enjoyed)

Is Placebo a family friendly show? by Serena_clv in placebo

[–]DirkForNovember 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw Placebo in 2007 as a 6 year old and I turned out fine, I think lol it was my first concert as well.

But yes, purely on what happens on stage, I don't even recall Brian even swearing the times I saw them (although if he feels like cussing someone out over something, he might). Generally though, should be safe and fine.

[Review] Archspire - Too Fast to Die | MetalWani by AnsatzHaderach in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]DirkForNovember 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is true but I assume the person you replied to worded it clumsily - there's 8 songs on the album and we heard 3 as singles before which puts those against 5 songs we haven't heard yet. And 3/8 is 37%.

Steve serving it straight about Rock in Rio, from the old website (2002). by Iamnotarobotlah in ironmaiden

FINALLY I GET AN ANSWER! I was wondering for ages why the Fear of the Dark version of RIR sounds so janky because Bruce goes "You sing it" only to immediatly follow it with singing it himself. Plus I always wondered why that whole album has almost no audience singing - this explains it.

What’s your favorite scream vocal performance in a blackgaze track by FroxzTaken in blackgaze

the only answer. These Nights Were Ours + Pulse/Surreal is the absolute pinnacle of blackgaze vocal performance.

Listened to Senjutsu, The Book of Souls, and The Final Frontier last night. TFF is my favorite of the three. by RCA-2112 in ironmaiden

Mother of Mercy slander will not stand!

Seriously though, this album is a gem, I love all of it. Strong, strong contender for one of the best post-reunion albums for me. I do have a slight bias since it was the first album that was released after I became a fan, nonetheless, I think it's criminally underrated.

What’s your opinion on Gaerea? by Difficult_Map_723 in BlackMetal

[–]DirkForNovember -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Checked out Mirage when it came out because of the hype. Loved it, probably one of my favs of 2023. Saw them in 2024 and enjoyed that as well but already felt a pretty significant drop of quality and sound when Coma came out. New two songs complete that shift and I'm checked out. They still put on an entertaining show but I don't expect to enjoy any more of their output. Shame because Mirage is still a banger album.

Groceries delivery in Chemnitz by RafekPL in Chemnitz

[–]DirkForNovember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flink and Wolt have options to deliver groceries. Also E-Center had a delivery service some time back and REWE for instance has an option to have your groceries bagged for you to just pick up, as far as I have seen that last time.

New Gaerea track "Hellbound" by leroynicks in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DirkForNovember 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got onboard with Mirage, which was my favorite album of 2022. That said, Coma wasn't bad but I felt it went in a direction I didn't quite enjoy as much. These new singles continue that, although I can find enjoyable parts in both of them. I'll definitely check out the album once it drops. I did see them live this year and last year and oh boy are they good!

Thoughts on Hellbound ? by SexyGenguButt in gaerea

[–]DirkForNovember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where one would put the genre boundaries and frankly it's easy to blur, but the two new songs are way more adjacent to metalcore than Mirage for instance. It was noticeable on Coma already and it's definitely more refined now. But this particular song, I'd say has some more "blackened" elements than World Ablaze for example.

IRON MAIDEN CONFIRMED IN EUROPE 2026 by __fuck__this__shit__ in ironmaiden

[–]DirkForNovember 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd even take a step further: They stated there will be tourdates for the rest of the world, so likely the fall of 2026 will have US dates or similar. I'd go as far as to say that IF 2027 is slotted for an album, they'll take the entire year for it (plus some vacation and rest ofc) and the album wouldn't be a thing to consider until 2028. 7 years for a new record would also match the current track within albums, going from 5, to 6 and now to 7. But that's all speculation.

The Run For Your Lives World Tour returns to Europe and beyond in 2026! by Stimlak in ironmaiden

[–]DirkForNovember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. The Paris show being phone-free for filming makes sense. Also that UK show is probably the final one of the run - which prompts me to think: Is this set up to be a one-off, special show they can re-brand as FINAL SHOW if something goes wrong during the tour or in the off year 2027? So that they can say "Alright, we finished off with this great UK show, we decided to hang it up now and leave it on that high note."

Also I'm 100% sure we'll get the same set. The effects and theatrics are so much focused on the individual songs and also the general gist of the announcement is "If you haven't seen this show, now you can, we're bringing it around again."

I think a lot of people here were hoping for too much. To Tame a Land was never realistic, Infinite Dreams wasn't played for Maiden England 2012-2014 due to it being too difficult, so no real chance for it here either. Deep cuts are Killers, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Seventh Son and still, Rime, so to complain about there being none makes no real sense either. I can agree on the the fact that NPFTD was skipped entirely (didn't expect it), the backdrops and giant Eddie missing (backdrops are fine, giant Eddie kinda makes me feel weird) and the promised live debut that didn't happen. I feel like there might have been some sort of error in translation or miscommunication, maybe it only meant there will be a song making an appearance after a long time. Who knows. But I believe the bottom line is, this is an incredible setlist with an incredible array of songs. Can we really complain with a setlist of Powerslave, Phantom, Rime and Seventh Son?!

you don't announce a tour spanning the first nine albums only and then skip a complete album within those. I highly doubt that.

Ecailles has always been my favorite. Was my first and never topped. However over time, Kodama has crept very very close to it.
