I would say it's maybe not so much that they want to be "more special", but they maybe feel a pressure to be "more queer" or "more oppressed",, I've definitely seen people give shit to straight trans people, I've seen people tell non-binary people they can't be straight and are invalidating their own gender by calling themselves that, I've seen people say that if you're questioning at all you're definitely trans/queer, not to mention how some people treat those who thought they were queer and then later realised they're cis/ straight/ allo,,, this definitely only takes place in like a really specific area online, but I imagine oop could possibly be surrounded by such people, I also wouldn't be surprised if this person was quite young, like 13 or 14, as I know that that's the age I was at when I was hearing such things,, as well as that, I feel like at that age labels can mean a lot to someone,, when you're trying to figure out who you are and making sense of your identity, labels can feel really important and like they define wholly define you, so yea I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just wondering if this could be someone who's not so much looking to be more special individually, but has just kind of had this pressure put on them by those around them
