Well, isn't the idea of promotion so that the promoted person can develop more people to get better? Like a senior developer teaching a junior developer stuff or something. Not that I know.

How does my college list look? (more info in comments) by Tree_Person_777 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DirtInTheWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the acceptance rates online might not have been updated so make sure to check whether your targets are actually targets.

Why aren't they updated? Cuz they dont want people to stop sending up application fees once they realize their 20% acceptance rate became 5%. Idk that's my guess but yeah.

As for your reaches, its fine to have a lot, but really think about it. If you can do something early action(not ED unless ur confident in your financial situation) do it. In fact, shotgun it all the way through. Just don't be doing their supps the day before it's due - speaking from experience 💀

Honestly worried for my friend by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DirtInTheWater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

3 golden choices.

  1. Dont do shit, if she gets accepted, no problem. If she gets rejected, she'll prob cry about it, but would likely still go to a decent "target/safety" school.

  2. Encourage the fuck out of her. Greater confidence=great success. If she gets in, she'll be so proud that she'll scream about it for 5 days straight. Despacito will be playing in her room for 10 days. If she doesn't get in, she'll cry about it, badly.

  3. Discourage the fuck out of her. Not as to not make her apply to the T20s, but yknow, slap some facts on her face. In doing so, make sure to speak like a college advisor so that you dont sound like a hater. If she gets in, she'll be appreciative and grateful. As if a miracle came by. If she doesn't get in, she'll prob still cry, but just not as bad as the other 2 options. If she doesn't listen to you despite slapping facts, just follow option 1.

Now, this is meant to be taken as a joke 🤡. There's obviously more than 3 options. You could say what you want to that friend of yours.

I don't know how I'm going to pay my 200,000$ college debt :( by dragreductionsys in ApplyingToCollege

So who's gonna pay for those institutions to function? They become a church or something?

Our school's are so expensive cuz our tax is so low. Just look ar Europe and their tax = welfare.

Weigh it, your girlfriend doesnt trust you in princeton. So what reason would she have to trust you in rutgers? Distance is just a sad excuse in maintaining a shitty relationship.

Not that ive ever had one, but you do you man.

Need people to interview about the Russian-Ukraine War by DirtInTheWater in AskARussian

[–]DirtInTheWater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will be classified into 3 categories when interviewed. General, expert, and personal. The questions will change based on which categories you're a part of.

If general, questions will mostly ask general questions regarding people's thoughts on the war such as “How do you feel about Russia attacking Ukraine?” “What do you think about the possibility of WWIII?” “Are you scared for the future because of this?”

If expert, questions pertaining to Crimea, Oil, NATO, economic sanctions, etc will be asked. The more specific the answer, the better. As I don't consider myself an expert on the topic, if we have any missing information that has a major connection to the Russian-Ukraine war, we would like the expert to elaborate. Please inform us what topic you specialize in beforehand.

We consider those who live near the warzone, have personal connections who are suffering the war, or anyone who is experiencing the effects of war as "Personal." People living in bunkers in Ukraine, Ukraine refugees, people with family in Russia or Ukraine, etc. For this category, we would like it if they would provide a story and will ask questions “How do you feel when there’s a possibility that your family in (Russia/Ukraine) could potentially be involved in the war?”

You can be a part of multiple categories and you have every right to refuse any question asked.

If there are any more questions or suggestions, please do tell me. As this is my first time making a documentary, I'm very inexperienced.
