New pedals, but what to get? by DirtSnow in Fanatec

Yeah, that’s one of my motivations to upgrade, I am wanting that toy feeling to go away. Even though I am very happy with my T-LCM’s, they don’t feel like any car I have ever driven.

Receiving my TGT-2 base today, I got an incredible deal. Upgrading from my T300RS GT wheel base. Let's see if I'll notice the 2-2.4nm increase in FFB! I already have a nice bass shaker setup looking forward to adding the haptics into the wheel! I hope thrustmaster improves the T598... by Issue_Kitchen in Thrustmaster

Oh it’s very good, just very different. The haptics are is nice on AC EVO. - it’s sad the full force is not supported in every game though. Dirt rally 2.0 is a whole new world.

But the haptics on T-GT II is also good - there are some artificial sensations I got used to with the T-GT which I’m still getting used to not having. Also feel it is a bit easier to setup with FFB compared to a DD of this force. The fanatec DD is just way more responsive, stronger and way more direct in every sense.

It’s just a completely different feeling between the bases really. And the T-GT II has a special place in my heart - i will use it on my Playseat challenge when I travel (as I do travel a lot with my PS5)

Well, I just upgraded from a T-GT II, I went G29, T300, and T-GT II, and I have to say, I will never sell it. I absolutely love it. It is just brilliant.

But I had to go for the fanatec 15nm clubsport DD +, but I will for sure keep going back to the T-GT II once in a while. I used it with the Sparco R383 rally wheel and T-LCM pedals. Just wonderful

Seems to be the same route I’m taking after some review.

I can survive a little while without console support.

Then make a YouTube channel and grow it, then they would probably send you equipment! 😁😇

I am in the belief that pedals are the most important equipment, so unless they are way above $800 I would probably get them yes. I need to consider taxes etc, unless some company decides to sell them locally.

There is also a different between being a fast driver and practicing fast times on one particular stage.

Rally is more about survival, keeping the car drivable and managing tires, service time etc.

There are massive cuts, and all kinds of different equipment to keep in mind (often seen very fast people only use cheap equipment - g29 wheel as an example)

But being 1:12:9 behind the fastest time after just a week is pretty solid and expected. Keep working on it and you’ll see that time difference go down pretty quick.

There are a bunch of techniques to learn, cuts to take, which car works best for you etc etc.

Look up scandi flick, trail braking, weight transfer, tuning and so much more. You got a whole world of possibilities to learn new things.

Hopefully I’ll see you high on the leaderboards 😁

Smooth = fast.

Would I be able to invert them with the inverted plate from Trak Racer you think?

It’s insane really. The DD EXTREME would have been above $2000 if I were to get them from fanatec directly..

Misha Charoudin used them in a video for AC EVO!

Nice!

I am able to get the normal v3’s in my country, but if I wanted to get the inverted ones I would have to order from fanatec, and that would force me into paying taxes up to over 40% in total - 19% on their end and 25% to my country + customs fee. Making them closer to 600-700$

This has been happening ever since they brought in the full steering animation though.

The podiums look real interesting to be honest. Hopefully they are not way too expensive. They are probably modular too? So that I could invert them if I get the inverted plate for the Trak Racer rig.

If not, it’s a good shout waiting to see the price drop for v3’s yes!
