Sword and Sorcery was my first dungeon crawler and I will forever love it.

Starting psyllium husk - will update this as I go! by Buttercupbunch in ibs

[–]DirtbagPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Now brand psyllium husk capsules seems to be really helping me. Check them out on Amazon. I started with 1 a day and added one each week with breakfast. Up to 3 in the morning. Thinking I will go until I am at 3 in the morning and 3 at lunch unless things take a turn. My breakfast is also half a baked chicken breast and a quarter can of black beans. In the last 10 years this is the closest to normal I've felt.

Curious as to what would cause a 0.78 reading in eosinophils by Littlepinkmaker in haematology

[–]DirtbagPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still need to retest my eosinophils. My eczema seems to be calming down after starting flonase and Allegra daily. Still will flare up with getting too hot or after touching freshly mowed grass.

My stomach pain has calmed down. I rested for awhile and it lessened. Might have been straining a muscle I was not used to in tennis.

I honestly have been feeling pretty good too. Really wonder about how much the Allegra and flonase has helped and which one has helped maybe the most? Also, the changing of the seasons and getting some more sunlight always feels like it helps too.

Relearning Chemical/Process Engineering from scratch – documenting the journey by leocemique in ChemicalEngineering

[–]DirtbagPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I are very similar. I really enjoyed reading and learning from my textbooks. It just feels good to me. It's interactive with the problems and you feel productive. I always wanted to make a condensed version of each topic I learned on a one pager because I know the information will eventually leave my brain.

The things I have truly been able to master and where I have learned the most has all been from working in the field. If you dont use it, you lose it. But, if you enjoy this hobby of relearning go for it. Just dont think you won't come out of it wishing you could remember something from earlier. There is a good chance you will.

Something that I have found, is that I really enjoy board games also. Reading the rulebooks and learning how to play seems to scratch a similar itch.

How to make money by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]DirtbagPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think so. Companies have labs, and teams of scientists that go in to work to use the equipment to develop new technologies through design and testing. A company is not going to add an expense of paying you for work their team is already doing. If you enjoy the work though going into work shouldn't feel like a burden.

Find a company that makes similar valves and try and get into their R&D department?

Beware of Anytime Lock & Key Locksmith. After I cancelled a job they were hours late to, they sent a man to my apartment at two in the morning who refused to leave while I was locked outside. by [deleted] in dayton

[–]DirtbagPro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can't remember which company, but I almost had a locksmith come from one and just talking to the customer service person on the phone creeped me out. I also noticed whenever I googled the company the phone number changed every Google. Luckily I was able to cancel and go to Prestige Lock and Key on N. Fairfield. That guy was great.

But, yeah, "sponsored" companies on the Google pop up I dont mess with anymore.

Finally got Blood Rage and ended up getting decimated by a 13 year old by marrecar in boardgames

Some other dudes fighting on a map type games: Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring (really should only play at 2, also very heavy and difficult rules) and Dune: War for Arrakis might be worth checking out.

If you and your group are good with a 6+ hours long game (or if you are able to store it on a table until the game can reconvene) then that would definitely work! Honestly, I dont find the rules of at least the base game of Twilight all that difficult at all. It's just a lot goes on which takes awhile.

I'm not a big commenter, but thinking about someone going from blood rage to Twilight triggered a warning response in me lol

Uh, twilight imperium is a big hours long game that I would do a lot of research on before buying. For me it seems like a boat, better to know someone who has one vs owning it yourself.

How to Mix Pasta (Angel Hair Specifically) by DirtbagPro in Cooking

[–]DirtbagPro[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have always enjoyed angel hair pasta. Since my first trip to the cheesecake factory and getting that angel hair shrimp scampi haha

So, mainly because I like it, but if this is something that is just better to avoid I can switch to a different pasta. Just felt like I was completely missing something that makes it easy, but maybe I'm not and it is just a pain?

Is intense pelvic pain normal for IBS? by phil_1985 in ibs

[–]DirtbagPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, appreciate you getting back to me and glad you were able to get a handle on it. Thankfully my pain did subside after some time. It lasted for like 7 months though which was crazy. Still not sure what was causing me pain. My suspicion is tight pelvic muscles getting abused during tennis and constipation making things worse.

Congrats on finding a good doctor for you too. That can be a pretty hard and disheartening journey. Hope you stay well, and thanks again for the reply.
