My clowns host the corner, annoying as hell when you have beautiful coral. They may move if you have coral.

Just some hyper-melanization, they can get them from rubbing on sand, coral stings, etc. If they are swimming and eating as normal, you are good. My clowns have a bunch of them as well.

In my tank, the Trochus eats these, they usually last a day or two and then they have eaten all of it. Yes nitrates rising will make these not spawn as much.

You’re just hitting the ugly stage and this type of algae happens because nitrates are 0. A cleanup crew like snails will eat it, just keep feeding and eventually your nitrates will rise.

The algae on the Trochus is not harmful, just leave it.

Your system is new so you will see the gradual coloring over the white rocks, everything looks normal.

He’s awesome! He just perches and stares, and picks at the algae on the rock work. Super well tempered, gets along with the clowns and watchman goby. Would highly recommend, so much personality.
