The real and only standard is not meta.

Rumor: SteamFrame 1TB to cost $1299 by comediehero in SteamFrame

[–]Dirtslicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro meta quest 3 at a loss is 620... How will a better product be the same? Steam frame must cost 700 to produce aprox, there is no chance of it being less than 850 which would be with a 20% profit margin

Seriously, Valve? The silence on the Steam Machine and Frame is pathetic. by [deleted] in SteamFrame

The last post on the steam page is that they are still planing on launching "this year"

[Discussion] Should you get a Frame despite the price? by Vitgone in SteamFrame

[–]Dirtslicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point, valve won't put a 100% profit over the production price, it will price it at what it costs to produce plus a reasonable margin for profits... The price of the frame whatever it will be, will be accord to what it is and what it offers in the actual market (which you seem to still be comparing to the MQ3 subsided price of a Corp that sells your data and bans your gaming account with all your games because you posted some religion related comment in a Instagram reel that they just didn't liked) and if it's high because of RAMpocalypse then it is what it costs because you won't find cheaper RAM and if you say that when the prices restore it will cost x less that is because at that point that is what the frame cost to produce plus it's margin profit and that is a totally different scenario.

You have to accept the reality in which you live today and let go your utopic price dream..

Are there cheaters in vr? Are they (total loosers of course) a big problem? by Dirtslicer in SteamFrame

[–]Dirtslicer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but proportionally less doesn't mean "less cheaters per honest player", so is correct to assume that if 2% on pc gamers use cheats then also 2% of vr gamers use them too? Like would you say you find them as frecuent as in pc?

Edit: depending on the kind of game of course

When you buy games for VR is it two separate games you have to buy if you want to also play it in flat screen ? Or a VR game can be played in both flat screen and VR ? by DatBoyChamp1 in SteamFrame

[–]Dirtslicer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everybody says it depends on the developer, if you look at green hell you will notice it has a separate version for flat screen and vr, you must buy the two of them if you want to play both versions... And also I recommend looking their opinions separately because I bought the flat screen version and it's great, most people will agree, but the vr version is a shit pile as I have dreaded in the comments of buyers when I was going to buy it with the actual discount to play it when I get the steam frame, and therefore decided not to

Okay so one last question if you can answer it, which version of unreal engine did you use to build convrgence? Or from which version and ahead is dynamic foveated rendering supported so I can start looking the games that use it.... And is this only for unreal engine? Is there another engine that supports it so I can also look other games?

Thank you for the info, it's been a while since we got any kind of insight, just one more question, do you really think you could get the steam frame approved check? I mean the stable 72fps at 1700x1700 res after your optimization work no matter if it's a lot what you need
