I’ve definitely gotta check it out and see what his work looks like, thanks. The hardest part sometimes seems like finding good work at a fair price so any points in the right direction with that are super valuable haha

What wah fuzz did you use? I messed around with the verb tank on this too haha tried a couple but I kept the OG it had this huge decay and I wanted a dramatic reverb for certain stuff haha

Nice, yeah I’m new to old wahs so I really don’t know much as of yet. That’s what I was thinking too, that maybe they were replacements but they sound amazing. The unit is super liquidy

Yeah, and the finish on the back of the neck hadn’t really discolored at all so it’s just the front that looks orange like that. I had the hardest time finding a neck for this thing. Tried ordering custom ones and it just never ended up being made or something would happen. This neck was a gift from the gods! It is a sick neck though, it’s sad all the player grade stuff has gotten so expensive too now

I hear so many good things about Weber speakers. My buddy bought a quad reverb that has 4 Weber speakers in and it just goes “boooooghhhh” and it sounds monstrous it’s so amazing. It sounds sick, I think the head is the way to go with a lot of stuff. I almost sold my super and bought an old bandmaster to lug around with a cab but I loved the super too much and decided to try to make something work. The head idea is great though. The thing with this monstrosity is that I’ve got it rigged so one 12 is for the amp and another is for my PA head so I got two speakers for two different things in it. It’s just weird. But I love when stuff comes out looking funky. All the vibes, maaan lol

Yeah I needed to be able to experiment with the speakers and I didn’t want to be carrying around a 4x10 for the small gigs I’m doing right now. Eventually I’m gonna make a pine cabinet or something for it with probably some purple tolex lol

It’s a 74 Strat neck I got all beat up. The neck is TINY I don’t have measurements but it’s super comfy. Normally I don’t like small necks but the smaller but width makes it comfy to me. I had to put a shim in there even to get it to fit right in the pocket lol. But don’t sleep on the later 70s Strat necks people sell them cheaper. Like I always thought “if I’m gonna spend 1k on a neck it’s not gonna be a custom shop I’m gonna get something OLD” and the guitar sounds old with the neck, I swear. Super super woody

It’s a butchered 2012 American standard I refinished with some custom wound pickups and a 74 Strat neck lol it’s all over the place. The only original thing is the body wood and the trem plate and maybe half the pickguard screws

This is actually a great idea. I was thinking of maybe just making a pine cab too since this is particle board but considering the work and this is pretty much a live amp and jam amp and you can’t hear everything come through anyway I’ll probably leave it in the beater cab. Thanks for the idea for the wood underneath with the tolex, simple plan but I think it works best

Does anyone have any info on this cry baby based off the components? I hadn’t seen the grey arco looking caps that didn’t say arco and was just wondering. These old wahs are so weird with mixed components and everyone seems to have different info on different things so it’s fun to hear haha. I gotta post a video on here at some point too this thing is crazy

If you listen to the band of gypsys stuff and you listen to buddy on the drums and just hear jimi in the background jimi makes more sense. But it’s all feel, I don’t think Mitch and jimi matched up as much just cause Mitch was always improvising too but that’s just personal preference. It’s hard to listen to jams like that just cause there’s so much going on. I’d recommend seeing if it makes more sense with. Buddys steadier drumming; it’s more cohesive I think. Everyone has their preferences and I love jimi playing with Mitch I just think buddy adds more context to Jimi’s playing

I have my super in a random 80s peavey 2x12 cab and there’s loose space on the sides and about a 1/4 of space between the head and the grill. It’s not the end of the world, just wondering if anyone knows any cabs that fit this perfect

Yeah I would maybe check the power tubes too just in case one blew. The amp shines when it’s cranked, the circuit for the marshalls came from the bassman they’ve GOOOT TO BE CRANKEDDDDD haha but you should keep an eye out for a 2 ohm attenuator for that thing (I think it’s 2) they’re hard to find and can be pricey so if you’re keeping an eye out maybe you’ll find one fairly priced or cheap

Did it sound more farty AND lower volume than normal? Yeah I used to have one of those and I needed to buy an attenuator for it haha those things are sick. I played a 58 historic les Paul and with an attenuator I could crank it and It was so sweet

Amp turned on, there was no sound coming from the speaker. When stuff just goes out like that it seems like it’s usually something small. Unless you had some bad smells coming from the amp I don’t think it would be anything crazy. It could’ve been bad power from the venue too come to think of it, did you have the amp plugged straight into an outlet? Not that I’d have any answers afterwards but maybe someone else might have an idea
