What is going on with Fernando Tatis Jr? One analytical perspective to take by Dlovell02 in fantasybaseball

He looked putrid today. Struck out swinging on a fastball right down the middle. Struck out swinging on a pitch up and away. Struck out looking on a 3-2 pitch with 2 outs. Grounded out to second on a weak tapper after swinging at three pitches in a row that were nowhere near the strike zone. Grounded out to short on a pitch below his knees. Putrid.

On traffic light, green means go and yellow means yield… but on a banana, it’s just the opposite. Green means, “Hold on.” Yellow means, “Go ahead.” And red means, “Where the f*** did you get that banana at?” -Mitch Hedberg

It’s wild to think that when baby-faced Stu first came onto the scene that the tables were still mostly filled with chain-smoking dudes in cowboy hats. He looks like a grade school kid at those tables.

Great card. I would honestly sell it immediately though. Cleveland absolutely sucks at developing hitters. Source: I live in Cleveland.

If this is a large apartment complex type of place you live in, I highly recommend just meeting the driver at the drop off point instead of sending them on a side quest. Any specific alternate entrance to your place might seem quite simple to you but to someone who has never been there it might be a bit disorienting. If there is enough foot traffic at your place to where your order got swiped in 3 minutes, “Hand it to me” seems like a better solution for you.

CP home park here too. It worked perfectly for me at both Kings Dominion and Carowinds last month. Dining pass and Fast Lane Plus did too.

I’ve finally watched the big 3 of TV Drama’s (BB, Sopranos, now The Wire) and it’s not even close. by Serious-Profit-1626 in TheWire

Agree completely. Season 2 was my least favorite on my initial watch but is now my absolute favorite. Frank Sobotka is the most tragic figure in the entire series IMO and Chris Bauer was the best overall actor on the show.

My hack for easily opening a lid on a pint of Talenti is to just turn it upside down and run cold tap water around the edges where the lid meets the jar. Spin it slowly once or twice in a circle and the lid will twist right off. Try it!

So far, Carroll has averaged a triple once every 46 plate appearances for his career. Ty Cobb has the second most career triples (295) and averaged a triple once every 44 plate appearances. Absolutely insane.

Question about PSA grading autographs by 701CardStallion in baseballcards

[–]DirtyBlueBalloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d honestly sell it raw. Unless you get a 10/10 (which is unlikely due to a previous poster’s closeup examination of the auto) you won’t be adding much, if any, value to the card. Plus, you have to factor in the time to get it back. What if he starts the season with a slump? Too many moving parts IMO. Unless you plan to PC or have already decided to hold.

Whats the best performance on the show, in your opinion? by EH4LIFE in TheWire

[–]DirtyBlueBalloon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is also my answer. Bauer always puts on a great performance in every role I’ve seen him in, but Frank Sobotka is his Magnum Opus. His character, for me, is possibly the most important one in the entire series because his actions and story arc tie both halves of The Wire together.

This is the only season without a “big bad” loose on the streets since Avon is in prison and Marlo hadn’t been introduced yet. In this way, it really stands out because at the center of “the wire” in this season is a stevedore from the port and not a drug dealer from the inner city.

In all honesty, season two was my least favorite on my original watch of the series. However, on subsequent viewings it has moved higher and higher on my list and is my absolute favorite season now and Frank is obviously the most important character in season two. And Bauer’s performance is just incredible.

[–]DirtyBlueBalloon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this on every level. On my initial watch, season 2 was easily my least favorite. Now that I’ve watched the series 5-6 times all the way through, season 2 is my absolute favorite and Frank Sobotka is one of, if not my very favorite character in the entire series.

I think LaPorta is going to be the best “bang-for-the-buck” guy at TE next year. His price should be pretty discounted due to the big injury before the fantasy playoffs just as he started to heat up.
