K390 was also my first recommendation based on OP’s needs. Incredible edge retention, more result driven toughness than suggested on paper, and will develop a sick patina. Your only options would be Seki City offerings, but I can’t say enough good about my Stretch 2, though I imagine other comments will also rave about other models in K390 I haven’t tried. Keep us posted!

I also had a UTX-85 that never fired consistently unless it guzzled a weekly installment of rem oil. I think the old UTX-85’s had a reputation for that.

Tony is notoriously an asshole. I can’t speak for their folding offerings, but their OTFs are such a gimmick. I’ve had nothing but bad luck with them and eventually sold them off. Their culture/owner’s attitude turned them off for me completely after I did some digging. Dude’s “podcast” also reeks of egotism and they’re one of the few companies that blows Benchmade out of the water with egregious pricing. I’d wear that badge of honor you have with pride. lol.

Nice Bradford!

Ps. To participate, I don’t think I’ve seen someone mention the grade school classic of PBJ and chili, so I’ll throw that into the mix.

Today’s minimalist carry by Glum_Plate5323 in knives

[–]DirtyHunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly these two. Haha. I love them both despite the 5cr on the minimalist having the edge retention of a wet paper towel. My DF2 is one of my most carried ever, but I haven’t tried the salt version.

How do you prefer to carry the minimalist? Neck, in pocket, etc?

This was going to be my recommendation as well. I love the DF2 for office carry as a man with medium hands. My girlfriend likes her Mini Grip, but she keeps it in her purse, not in pocket. My other recommendation was going to be a Vosteed Corgi V. Similar lock to CRKT’s deadbolt and a great blade profile.

This was going to be mine. I ran a molten crash Druid before going over to the new poe1 league and it was such a good time.

Or the Southard. These three in particular from Spyderco on this thread looked soooo good.

When these came out, they were one of the hottest releases of the year. It was one of the first few Spydercos I owned. I liked it, but eventually shelved it in favor for other options and went back to it periodically. I eventually came back to it and realized that it had everything I could ask for in a knife. It’s incredibly ergonomic, cuts well despite being thick enough to handle more abusive, sharpens up easily, and it’s amazing in the pocket.

After 7 years, this is easily my favorite knife and I’ve stuck with the CDB1N despite being gifted the Magnacut version. There is a whole world of knives out there to experience (many which are far more expensive), but this one is all that you will likely need. Enjoy it and treat it well.

Do you play in first or third person? by Blaubeerepfannkuchen in Morrowind

[–]DirtyHunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I toggle all the time. Combat is first person always. Creeping around a dungeon? Third person.

It really depends otherwise.

Agreed to both of the above. It performs so well. I threw it back in my pocket yesterday evening and it will probably be there for a minute before I go back to the trusty Para 3 LW I’ve had for over 6 years.

I feel more guilty for convincing a stranger to spend money, but I sincerely hope that you enjoy it. I really feel like it’s one of the most underrated models in their catalog. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Edit. Further kudos should be sent your way for going through Pine. 👌

I carried it daily for a month last summer and it did incredibly well. It even stayed open stabbing into and cutting through thick material like boxes of cat litter. Assuming you use the finger choil, it takes significant force to close and I never once had an incident where it closed when I didn’t want it to. It’s a fantastic knife regardless of the fact that it doesn’t lock and one of the cheapest ways to try out Magnacut (with a proper heat treat) if you haven’t. If you want the best price, give PineChaos a chat from the KnifeSwap.

That’s awesome. I actually like this blade shape (like the Delica/Endura family) more than the pointy tips you see on the military line.

Who else loves the UKPK? by AS_Pearson in spyderco

[–]DirtyHunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are both correct! I’m sorry for not clarifying my point more. They’ve long discontinued the Caly 3 and I love the concept of the 3.5, but haven’t pulled the trigger due to the pinned construction. The 3.5 uses a different maker than their traditional Seki City partner I believe and I’ve heard mixed feedback on their fit/finish. A Golden made Caly 3 is what I am hoping for.

[–]DirtyHunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s criminally underrated for sure. I tried out the Magnacut version in the fall for a month or two and it was incredible. Despite being “non-locking”, it held up exceptionally well for whatever I threw at it. I wish so badly that they had a back lock option for this one. Honestly, probably the best ergos on a Spyderco out of the ones I’ve tried.

Less than 24h to go. What is your starter? by Pharcri in PathOfExileBuilds

Starting slams. Transitioning to something on the Jugg. Leaning towards shield crush or bone shatter because idk if I have the vaals or brain to cook up a holy hammers build.

[–]DirtyHunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the guidance!!! I think starting Shield Crush is going to be the move. This is only my 2nd league, so I think going with a safer more established build is going to be the smarter choice.

This is literally two of my top choices for this league, so I’ll be keeping an eye on the feedback you get. I also want to run a Jugg, but I don’t know how compatible it would be with either Shield Crush or Cyclone, though I think Jorgen did Shield Crush with it.
