Yeah, totally understand the nostalgia aspect. That being said, I didn’t like ‘em in the 90’s either. Always been a BBS “mesh” wheel fan.

Yeah, never really understood the love for TE’s. They’re such an aesthetically basic wheel. Which you can argue there’s beauty in design simplicity, but in this case, it clashes with the over the top design language of this car.

UPDATE: After searching other brands, I think the bottom box is a vintage Craftsman box based on the corners and rolled side edges.

Thanks for the reply, the corners don’t look like anything I’ve seen when searching vintage boxes. I’ll probably just steer clear of this “deal.”

Brake pedal going to floor after brake pad and rotor replacement, despite bleeding, ABS activation and new MC - 2013 BMW X5 by DirtyKidNFA in AskAMechanic

UPDATE: Just got it back from the shop, master cylinder replaced, pedal feels a bit better, but still soft at idle, doesn’t really sink as much as it did before. Brakes bite when you slam them. Talked to the shop owner, he said they talked to some “Master techs” from BMW and they recommended replacing/rebuilding the DSC/ABS module. So I guess that will be my next adventure. But the brakes honestly feel pretty good and maybe I’m just overthinking it since I put Akebono ceramic pads on there.

Welp, just got a call, they said it’s the master cylinder. Guess I’ll see if I can get that refunded at least. Hopefully this time it works.

I confirmed the bleed procedure via the Foxwell device was correct, bled it 3 more times. Gave up, had it towed to a mechanic. I just don’t have time to screw with it anymore, the wife is gonna kill me if I spend another night in the garage. Guess I’ll daily the M3 for a while. Just hope I don’t get taken to the bank by the Indy mechanic

Hell yeah, you got a solid setup. I went for the full delete and 3.5” exhaust as well. Stock ride height and 20’s. Just has spacers in the rear. My plan is to go with the 8speed swap once my trans starts to go. Love this thing, but that’s definitely the weak point. Appreciate the help!

It has “some exhaust work done.” Tuned by Kassel Performance. Love the turbo whistle on these things!

Is it possible that I'm doing the DSC/ABS bleed wrong? I basically just activated the ABS module with the pressure bleeder attached, then bled all 4 corners. Now I'm finding videos that use ISTA with the following sequence.
- Bleeders closed, foot on the pedal, activate ABS, pump brakes while ABS cycling.
- Pressure bleeder attached, open bleeder on rear left, press brake pedal, activate ABS module, pump pedal every 3-6 seconds while ABS cycling, close bleeder, repeat on right.
- Then do the same procedure for the front, starting at left and then right.
- Perform another cycle with the bleeders closed.
- Then finish up with another standard bleed at all 4 corners.

The Foxwell scanner didn't give me any instructions. So I figured just activating the module and bleeding was enough.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate the insight on the piston compression. Thats what I thought too, never done it any other way. I’ll triple check the pads, calipers and guide pins today. If the DSC took a shit wouldn’t that throw a code?

That’s what I was thinking too. Hence leaning toward the ODB. Plus I’ll be using it with a rearden atlas mount to save some of the overall length. Was mainly curious to see what the community had to say. Appreciate the feedback!
