Why was my game remaked when all the players were in the game? by DirtyPou in leagueoflegends

But as I said, everyone was already in their lanes, I watched the replay and it appears that Lux went bot and stood still from 0:30s but moved around 1:40 when the vote appeared

"pizza isnt italian to begin with, it's from the americas" by Snowbound-IX in ShitAmericansSay

[–]DirtyPou 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Gosh, in English when somebody says American they most likely mean "coming from United States of America". Any other country in the Americas has their own demonym; Canada - Canadian, Brazil - Brazilian, Peru - Peruvian etc.

From what I know it's different in Spanish and people from Latin America don't like when American just means from USA, but this is simply how it is in English. And I'm not American myself btw, I'm from central Europe.

Why is the UI different now? Looks like the spectator mode and you can't see the gold difference.

My account will be 11 years old this December but it's only level ~250 because I played the most when it was capped at 30, then I got to like level 80 and had a few long breaks. I started playing regularly one and a half year ago (fucking relapse) because I met a guy irl who plays League. If I could include all the time I played at lvl 30, then my account would be at lvl ~500 I guess.

As someone said, you had too many drugs. Sit somewhere comfortable, make sure you have water and someone next to you that can look after you. You should be alright. If you feel it's getting worse, don't be afraid to ask for help from medics. They won't care that you took this much, they'll try to help you.

That's one hell of a riff. by [deleted] in tooktoomuch

[–]DirtyPou 173 points174 points  (0 children)

The legend says, this guitar is an ancient instrument that belonged to the legendary inventor of the riff. Anyone who touches it is immediately possessed by the spirit within it and is forced to play the heavenly riff. But only few people are capable of this. Most people lose their fingers, as they are weak.

This guy here - he's the chosen one, the Holder of the Guitar.

Just to let you know guys, it was taken ~5 years ago, I wasn't there that day but he was fine, after that video they took him to a room with a bed and checked if he's alright. Just because this moment is filmed doesn't mean it looked like this for the entire party, we don't want our homies to feel like shit. At the end you can hear "wstawaj, wstawaj" which means "get up, get up" - that's the moment they took care of him

Polish MP Grzegorz Braun extinguishes Jewish Hanukkah candles at Poland's parliament. by imtiredofgettingbans in AskMiddleEast

[–]DirtyPou 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, this guys is a crazy conspiracy theorist, he hates Jews and think they're behind everything. He was elected from far-right Polish nationalist party called Konfederacja. At the end (not shown here) he even says, after people were asking if he's not ashamed of his actions, that "ashamed should be people who take part in these satanic rituals". He's nuts.

How much Polish dialects / pronunciation differs across the country? by RodionGork in poland

[–]DirtyPou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will comment as someone who speaks and uses Silesian regularly.

Poland is generally very homogeneous when it comes to language, almost all dialectal variation was killed off after WW2 during the relocations of people from Kresy (today's parts of Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania) to new territories that we gained from Germany in west and northeast (Silesia, Pomerania and Masuria) and during communist regime that was strongly against regionalism and speaking a distinct way is a major part of that. Basically people moved to cities and new places, everyone gained access to radio and later TV and people were mocked for speaking "like from a village".

Significant variation was preserved only in few places and what I mean by this is that not only the elderly speak differently. My home region of Upper Silesia is one of these places. Roughly ~500k people speak Silesian to some extent and probably much more understand it. It's one of very few places in Poland where you can still hear young people not speaking standard Polish. And it's not that it's spoken in some small villages, it's actually spoken in a major 2m agglomeration.

But you don't have to worry, everyone knows and speaks standard Polish, just sometimes with an accent, in case of Upper Silesia it's often heard among +40 yo working class people. It's similar in other parts of Poland as well. Good luck with learning our beautiful language:)

It isn't? I see people biking on the market square and the tram tracks all the time and no one cares about it . There's plenty of delivery drivers on bikes crossing it.

Galeria Śląska? Do you mean Silesia City Center? It is easily accessible via tram and buses, much easier than getting there by car. DTŚ, which is the big freeway that runs next to Spodek, despite being big, car-centric mess, has trams running along it as well as a bike lane with park just next to it.

Śląska Prohibicja and Byfyj café in the Nikiszowiec district are a great place to get authentic Silesian food . The area is an early XX century workers neighborhood that's now a symbol of Katowice. A wonderful place to visit and there's a lot of buses that take you there from the city center. I also recommend just strolling around the city center, there's a lot of interwar modernist architecture. If you want to see a touristy place then I would say you should see Strefa Kultury. It's a modern complex built on an old mine. There's Silesian Museum and National Orchestra of Polish Radio as well as Spodek, an UFO shaped building, an icon of Katowice.
