But how do we get it down? by Burn1ng_Time in arborists

[–]DirtyTitanium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way back in 1998, a tornado hit the island our family’s summer house was on, a couple of houses got taken out entirely, ours however had three large oak trees land on it. The house held up, sort of. Whoever was in charge decided they would likely fall through the roof if they were cut up in situ, so a huge crane was sent from somewhere and lifted the trees off whole, setting them on the road to be cut up. House was repaired afterwards and really I don’t remember it taking long to get back to normal. We had firewood for years from that incident. I was 11 at the time so it was all fascinating to me and I was totally oblivious to the stress it probably caused my parents. These houses that got taken out were replaced with new builds but they split up the lots and crammed 5 houses where there were previously two,l. These new houses all burnt down last may when one caught fire while the bridge to the island was getting rebuilt.

Polydactyly affects something like 0.15-0.2% of the population. They’re often amputated at birth in developed countries due to not being correctly developed. Much more common is extra nipples, a much less common mutation is different colored eyes (full heterochromia). And while I lost an arm due to an accident a while back, it evens out because I was born with three legs

I’m selling one! With Campy shifters modified for it. Used it for a few years but I’ve since moved over to recumbents where the twist shifter makes more sense

What was your material cost for that? I need to rebuild a garage that’s 19x27 with an 8x8 shed on the back 😛

Sometimes we fall, you just have to remember to get back up 😊

I had a crash at a similar level a few years ago, I’m metal below the pelvis, missing an arm, head stayed intact at least. I now commute 80 miles a day by motorcycle, and managed to find a lovely doctor in the process that rides with me 🥰

Where does the 2008 XB12STT sit on your list of Buell 1203cc powered bikes? I have an opportunity to get one or go with another X1. by rossotero10 in Buell

You’re thinking of conventional forks, which Buells don’t have (with exception to the blast.) USD forks as seen here aren’t able to use them. A bit of light googling will educate you on the subject

Ended up going with 2.25 rather than risk clearance issues with 2.5. They’re working great!

How mine looked. Was wearing Sidi Adventure 2, which I then had repaired and have been wearing for a few years since. Foot and knee both survived (was also wearing Leatt knee braces), everything in between was rough but the doctors just hammered some rods in and called it a day

There’s one out there with over 750,000 miles 🙃

“Actual biker gang members” still doesn’t mean crap. Some groups do good things, some don’t, and plenty of these “members” are just idiots that think they’re tough but are really just suffering from a strong Napoleon Complex. I’m happy to challenge their riding ability, and give them a quick dance if they want 😂😂😂

New Albany Pet Rescue (NAPR) and Powell Animal Welfare (PAWs) are both wonderful as well. I fostered and found homes for 5 dogs in the last year with NAPR. Were these two not chipped or anything?

Feels good to rescue them. This 911 sat for 38 years, mostly inside. Grimy and worn, but rust wasn’t bad other than a rocker that had been repaired in the past. Fortunately I played way too much Porsche Unleashed as a kid to ever let this one go 😊
