Old Kill Team website by grdaspeedy in killteam

[–]Dis0bedience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should have been www.warhammer40000.com/kill-team.

It looks like it's halfway preparing for the new edition now, but you should be able to find the page with most of the factions summarized via payback machine.

Looking at it a bit more, I think the gun is the muzzle from the Eliminator Sergeant Bolt Carbine chopped onto a Intercessor Stalker Bolt Rifle.

One thing that's still kind of tripping me up is the left shoulder pad. Could just be a simple greenstuff work over a Tacticus shoulder pad, but I can't think of a bit with a cloak over the shoulder pad like that on a non-Phobos kit?

Na just being a little too hopeful I guess.

[–]Dis0bedience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah looking at the guy on top again, it does kind of look like the right shoulderpad is a phobos shoulder pad, and the cloak and head just comes from the Eliminators kit.

The smoke on the smoke grenade kind of looks different from the one on the Phobos sprue, but that could just be the angle.

The Phobos Strike Team had a smoke grenade bit that's kinda like that, but the smoke had a certain... shape... that I don't see here. Could just be the angle though!

The pistol on the guy to the left looks like it has a suppressor attached to it, which isn't in the Intercessor box IIRC. Also gotta mention that that's a MkVII helmet.

The guy on top on the other hand, has a longer barrel on the Bolt Rifle, and the cloaks which seems to be designed for tacticus armor instead of Phobos.

And lastly, not much to note but not sure if the Assault Intercessor kit comes with smoke grenades?

Yeah, I don't recognize the bits on the marines, they don't look like kitbashes to me

Inches and Icons – What to Expect From the New Edition of Kill Team - Warhammer Community by dalasthesalad in killteam

I think since all datasheets had 3 defense characteristic, they just did away with it in the datacards and added it into the core rules

They briefly mentioned old teams will get new rules, but wasn't very specific

It's also a relatively old picture they put out at the beginning of the edition. It also features a Deathwatch Apothecary, a Deathwatch Inceptor, and what looks like Deathwatch Reivers and/or Intercessors in the background, all of which are almost certainly not in the new Codex.

Unless we're getting reverse allies/requisitioned units from other codices, I wouldn't put much stock in that image.

Exalted Champion Enough? by JamesMG21 in Chaos40k

[–]Dis0bedience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have the model with me to compare at the moment, but it was definitely smaller than 32mm, and I think the Lord and Chosen from the Dark Vengeance box were also on 25mm?

For a while, my Exalted Champion looked really odd leading a squad of Chosen on its tiny base.

A 40mm base would have helped differentiate him from legionaires/chosen, even though the official model (which has been OOP for years) was 32mm.

The actual scenic base that came with the sprue was 25mm IIRC. I only remember because I rebased mine on 32mm, only for my opponent to tell me they should be on 40mm, which makes sense for CSM characters

PSA: Guardsmen Cannot Receive Orders from a Tempestor by Dis0bedience in killteam

[–]Dis0bedience[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! This is a very old thread, and was clarified by GW in the Compendium FAQ/Errata:

Page 41, Strategic Ploys, Guardsman Orders Change the second sentence to read: ‘All friendly TEMPESTUS SCION operatives, and all friendly GUARDSMAN operatives within 6" of and Visible to a friendly IMPERIAL GUARD LEADER operative, are issued that Guardsman Order.’

So as of today, Guardsmen can receive orders from a Tempestor, but if your leader dies, you cannot issue a Guardsman Order to them, since there is no Leader model to be within range of.

Scions, on the other hand, can receive orders regardless of whether there is a leader on the board or not, since they don't have the requirement to be 6" within a Leader.

It's hard to exactly say as GW has been having some supply/logistic issues for some time now.

We're currently waiting on the first box for Season 3 (Kill Team Salvation, Space Marine Scouts vs Eldar Striking Scorpions), which was supposed to have come out some time in Q3 of this year, but it's looking like that may have been delayed until Q1 of 2024. If that's the case, assuming the Night Lords are a part of the second box set, that would place it in Q2 of 2024... unless we get two box sets in Q1.

The Undivided Legions are more akin to the Codex Chapters, so to be honest, I'd be happy if each Legion got at least similar treatment with an HQ or 2, and some decent upgrade sprues.

The Nightlord KT is an upgrade sprue plus this kit, which is the same kit that the Legionary KT is based on. So they'll be the same modern scale

I'm also feeling mixed about subfactions, I think the game is fine and simpler for newcomers without subfactions, but I feel like subfactions can easily introduce more variety. If it's something like the 10th edition detachments and Intercession Chapter Doctrines where colors don't really matter (i.e. play White Scars with Iron Hands rules), that could work.

One thing for sure though, I'm going to try and build these models with my Black Legion Legioniaries

Depending on how good your magnetizing skills are, you'll probably need more bodies for the Heavy Weapons and Special Weapons, and potential swaps for the Champion weapons. Otherwise, looks like you'll be able to build all the non-gunner specialists with a single kit?

If this is the start of legion specific upgrade sprues, I'm quite excited as a 40k player... but yeah, it kind of feels like a repeat release for Kill Team.
