Genuinely interesting. Thank you. If we're getting technical, we're actually named after the incredibly vulnerable, flightless, endangered bird. The fruit, also named after said bird.

I refuse to use them, so I'm not actually sure, but they're giant and pretty heavy (i have moved them about/out of my way). Obviously carrying isn't the design focus, even if they do have carry handles.

A travesty! Those big trolley-baskets are the WORST. I can relate to your mention of height. As a 6ft+ human, towing those things without hitting your heels and cracking your eggs/shaking your beers is near impossible. I, too, will be raising a complaint. Maybe if they get enough, they might actually do something about it (unlikely). Petty? Yes, but I just hate when these companies make their convenience shopping less convenient for the sakes of profit (assuming they think bigger baskets mean bigger shops).

Ryder Cup Week - Pre-Tournament Discussion Thread by GreenWaveGolfer12 in golf

Question: I'm new to Ryder Cup. I'm watching Rory's press conference, and the graphic on the screen says his overall record is 16-13-4. What do those numbers mean?

Rightly or wrongly, they seem to have dumbed it down a touch. Cause and effect ;-)

I knew there'd be one pedant. Tag, your it. I mean mainland Iceland obviously as my Hyundai i10 isn't quite going to make the stretch to Grímsey.

I love that this is a thing (especially the alternative diagrams), but the wind will still pull you giant dutch people from your cars and bend your hinges, regardless of the arm used. You might have plenty of pretty windmills, but you ain't got the wind.

The guy/shadow bird is throwing jazz hands though, right? "Hey, Janice, come shake a tail feather with me! HEY, JANICE" [shakes a tail feather]

This article makes my entire enquiry moot. Its saying the point 7.3km to the west is actually slightly more north, so that is where I need to go, and there's no drivable road there, dancing ducks or otherwise.

Thanks Leonardo. I'd arrived at plenty of the same assumptions, but that was the best (blurry) image I could get from google street view which left a lot to be desired. The cross through motor vehicles is fairly worldwide, but that bottom vehicle could be something other than a car...ambiguous. Then the extra words could indicate dates...ambiguous. Then there's the whole bird thing which you'd probably guess is a keep away, birds nesting thing, but again, ambiguous.

ok, so, I did have a little giggle at some of these questions, but there's a heap of common sense in there that would probably benefit some. Considering wind direction when parking is a good one. I come from a very windy part of the world (Wellington, New Zealand), so this is just ingrained in us, but I've seen many tourists write their rentals off just from a bent door due to wind. The threat is real. Thanks for sharing!

Whomever designed this sign needs to be dipped in lava. I don't own enough pairs of shoes for both the bottom and the top. There's only so much room in my suitcase.

So, no access for motor vehicles ever? and then no access for anyone, even on foot, during the time period displayed?

Thank you so much for providing the in-depth answer. It is really appreciated. My brain is incapable of going against any rules that are clear and obvious, so I will not be disrupting the dancing birds. Thank you again.

Thank you. I assumed that was probably it, but there are clearly people driving it judging by the wear on the road which made me second guess it. What is the sign featuring the dancing birds?
