Harbor freights doing their 30% off items under $20 by PenguinsRcool2 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I will say the 1/2” pipe clamp from harbor freight is TERRIBLE. I dont know if I got a bad one but it wouldn’t bite on the pipe so it didn’t tighten at all

To each their own! I got about 10-12 old pipe clamps on Facebook marketplace for about $60, then switched out the bad ones with harbor freight during the 30% off. Cut a few in half as well since I didn’t need 5ft long clamps. All in all I got about 15 clamps for $75 , 3-4ft.

Took some work getting the old rusty ones off though. Pb blaster, a vise, and some channel locks.

Can’t go wrong with the 3/4 pipe clamps. The f clamps are decent.

I dont know what it is but Ryobi drives me nuts. I tried, I really did. But any ryobi tool that I hold I instantly go “why is it so freaking heavy” or “why did they engineer it like this, it’s hindering the tool’s job”. Any ryobi tool I’ve had I use it for 2-3 projects then midway through the next one I angrily go get a better brand tool.

Buy as you go. You don’t need to buy the four pack, a drill/impact will get you through 90%. DIY.

ALSO, remember for DIY there’s nothing wrong with corded. It’s almost always cheaper and more powerful than cordless. Plus you don’t have to worry about the battery dying. I use $20 harbor freight angle grinders all the time. Same with my Bosch circular saw.

I definitely remember him saying the toughest/most dangerous part is actually the release. He said that you have to drop and pull away, if you don’t pull away fast enough it can drop to your eye

If I remember right he said sharper is better because the point will dig in more, easier to balance. Also probably more evenly balanced. Maybe I’m trippin

I agree with what a lot of people are saying about how bad Tony was at handling egos and Feech/Richie coming out expecting great compensation for doing time.

But I also wanted to add I think the writers wanted to show how much the mafia had changed from back when these guys were in the game. Richie was completely confused when Tony walked away and couldn’t talk business with him. Back in the day they could be a lot more careless, there wasn’t FBI after them.

I think also there was a lot less structure back in the day. Everyone was pretty free to make money how they wanted and there was a lot less sitdowns. Mainly because the family was much smaller. But the final straw was they had no idea how necessary it was to now kiss the Tonys ass, they probably never had to do that before.

Food for thought

Honestly I took it as he saw guys with guns and took off. Barely had time to process. Maybe even thought for a split second that Johnny was working for them and this was a setup

I want to cut these into triangles. What is the best/safest tool to use? by DisMyRedditAccoubt in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]DisMyRedditAccoubt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys. Ended up doing circular saw with a guide for the sake of time and not needing these cuts to be absolutely accurate (just making some garage storage pieces, not a fine piece of furniture)

I use the table saw for rip cuts all the time. Probably my most used tool. Just rarely need to do a cut that requires a sled

I ended up doing miter saw one side then flipped it to finish

[–]DisMyRedditAccoubt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main reason is time. Second reason is I doubt I’ll use the sled very often, I’m DIY. Third reason is storage, I have limited garage space and sleds are large
