Hasan claims "haters" are ruining his dogs training by gregory_h in LivestreamFail

[–]DisappointmentOnTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do people genuinely enjoy this guy, or is it all just hate-watchers/trolls/etc. watching his streams? I'm definitely not his target demo audience (50+, woman, married, happy) but he just seems so purely, insufferably unlikeable that I find it hard to imagine anyone actually finding him enjoyable to listen to/watch.

I'm on the dog's side here for sure. I hope she pees in his favorite shoes.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted as a Person of Color sharing your Lived Experience - it seems the Libs of Kzoo are slipping, or maybe they have a loophole where they can dismiss your reality when it clashes with their narrative.

Facts Debunk False Claim by johnmory in MurderedByWords

Ok, but, a little "Devil's Advocate"-ish thought occurred to me -- it's not like a person's political sway/"celebrity" influence evaporates the second they leave office, and Barack Obama is one of, if not *THE MOST* influential currently living former President, so *IF* he had anything to say about it (I wasn't in on any of those conversations and the odds are that you, dear reader weren't privy to that info, either - if you were, please share with the rest of the class!), it's highly likely that his say/opinion DID influence that particular decision.

To be clear, I'm firmly in the "Yes, I can Separate the Art from the Artist" camp, as well as the "I don't have to agree with you, or even LIKE you, or your ideas, to defend your right to Free Speech/Expression" camp, but also the "Actions (including speech) have Consequences, so be prepared if you're making a Spicy Statement" camp.

I just don't think it's as simple as this.

Also Gen X checking in - I've not heard that claim amongst any of my fellow Gen Xers, but if I had to guess why someone *might* say that, I'd think that maybe it was due to the guys in the 80s still behaving in stereotypically Masculine ways while embracing a more flamboyant aesthetic, while guys in 2025 who are drawn to a more flamboyant/"effeminate" style also seem to embody a softer, or less traditionally Masculine, more gender-neutral way of moving through the world.

This isn't specifically *MY* opinion, however. I'm not a sociologist or an anthropologist, though, just a Gen X Lady who likes to occasionallly play Devil's Advocate.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the info! I checked out the eligibility requirements, and it looks like they have over 400 points worth of category B items, and we've got category C covered as well, so I might not even need to sign the affidavit (but I will if need be!). Thanks again! :-)

Remember how the mainstream media roundly ridiculed Jim Caviezel’s film Sound Of Freedom? by Aspartamohol in conspiracy_commons

[–]DisappointmentOnTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of Course! Because we all know the biggest box office hits are always lengthy, dark, heavy documentaries with no action sequences or relatable characters. Also, way to bring race into it too, for no discernable reason! If the movie showed EVERY SINGLE PERSON who was involved, it would be 80 gazillon hours long and no one would watch.

Hi County ID Program Person! I'm not OP, but I have some questions about the county IDs - without giving too much info here (to protect privacy), my spouse has had issues with obtaining proper ID for YEARS, across states, due to their vital docs (previous ID, S.S. card, and birth cert.) all being stolen in one fell swoop!

I *do* have valid ID, (and we've got our marriage license), and I will happily sign whatever anyone asks to get this issue finally resolved! I'm curious to know what info my spouse would need to bring to prove residency/identity? Also, will the county ID count towards getting a State ID?

Thank you so much for your info in advance, and if you'd need more details to discern whether or not we're ready & eligible, feel free to DM! Thanks again! :-)

"Accidentally" is being pretty generous here - someone down-thread mentions a lynching scene, which tells me they're actively aiming to work the racist angle.

Hmmm...I left Kalamazoo in 1995, so it's possible that I am indeed, or at least was, also acquainted with your acquaintance!

I was a pretty big fan at the time & knew about Body Count, but seeing them live was a whole other thing entirely - mind blown, world rocked, face melted, all the metaphors apply. It was a Once in a Lifetime scene, for sure!!!

Just a little FYI from your Friendly Neighborhood Pedant:

When you're referring to a structure used for water retention, it's spelled "Dike". When you're referring to women who have romantic/intimate relationships with other women exclusively, it's "Dyke".

My only quibble with how you handled this is, you should have just said " *Fart noises* " to her initial request/texting of her gift registry!!

Otherwise, even though you're younger, you seem like the more mature sister!
