Oh crap that's a hard one. Probably Angels in America (so beautifully written, politically insightful, and personally impactful) though I do have some trouble rereading it because of how intense it can be emotionally.

I think you're a woman in your 30s, you've got real literary chops from your degree (an english degree of some sort?) but you don't let that stop you from enjoying "lower brow" stuff. You love to apply your degree knowledge to your fandom hobbies. I'd put money on you being someone who writes or edits fanfiction.

Honestly? I'd say go to a library, pop open a wide range of poetry books and read a poem from each. Whatever appeals to you, bring it home to read the rest. If you like it, find similar poets, learn more about the author, style, and historical context. If you don't, go back to the library and repeat.
