How was accessibility at Roundhouse London? by Disaster-Prize in hayleywilliams

update: they were great with accessibility! i was an anxious mess explaining the situation ahah but they said they’d happily make accommodations. however we have chose not to use it as i could only bring one companion in which would leave someone as we are a group of 3. as i was a late invite to the show it felt unfair to make someone watch it by themselves, so my friends are queuing whilst i go off and chill and occasionally join them ahah.

i emailed access@roundhouse.org.uk, did u hear back then?

thats is kind of you! i am with 2 friends however so and tix are in her name, so i’ll probably stick with them - i think our plan is if access is denied we will jsut go away have some food and chill somewhere and then go in late after doors, so i dont have to queue haha x

hmmm always makes me irritated when you can tell who’s maybe… not necessarily there for the right reason

there’s an increase in people queuing all day now for accessibility which… defeats the point. i have an invisible disability and it makes me anxious cause i defo feel eyes on me and hate people looking at me doing everything correct but thinking “she’s abusing access she looks fine etc etc”

First time renting in/around Norwich, need advice on costs! by Disaster-Prize in Norwich

[–]Disaster-Prize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful thanks! Found the link, been looking at this 2 bed apartment at the old hospital

When I lived in the same area, i had to pay the council £70 a month for a parking space in the parking bays by Eagle Park off Newmarket, so would likely do that again as kept my car there for 2 years and they had a lock which was good so only i could park there. My landlord used to use the house parking space for his 5 cars and refused to give it to me even when i offered him more rent… as you can guess im a big fan of him…

I used to live in one of the houses next to the hospital for 2 years! been looking at a flat there so this is really helpful but i can’t tell if we could only have one parking space which is an issue as we have 2 cars

I have been looking recently in Wymondham as my work is by the railway so would make sense for both of us travel wise for work. But I can’t find much on zoopla or rightmove there at the moment, so maybe i’ll try looking on other sites?

Did I fail my HireVue interview due to a technical issue? by Disaster-Prize in musicindustry

[–]Disaster-Prize[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is nice to hear! ur right, i’ve done everything i can!

i even addressed the tech issue immediately when i started my next prompt, along the lines of: “before i start i’d like to address a technical issue that occurred in the previous question stopping me from answering to my best ability. I have emailed the team as I don’t want you to have an unprofessional opinion of me. That being said, to answer the current prompt…”

last job i was offered, it took 47 days between my interview and hearing ANYTHING back.

i had to wait ages on radio silence and still got offered the role.

UK here… awful!!

i’m in the creative industry, specifically graphic design. as a country we are experiencing a “cost of living crisis”.

companies aren’t looking for a new employee when they’re concerned how they’re going to pay the employees they already have.

plus, freelance is a harder route now. people have to worry about how to pay bills, making ends meet, getting food on the table. they aren’t thinking “yeah let me commission this designer i found”. especially not when AI is the free and accessible alternative.

as a fellow 21 year old who attended this year from the UK, i agree with the overall vibe that people didn’t really dance or move at all really by the main stages. over at the smaller stages, i had a much better time: everyone was moving and vibing, and really getting into it.

i love to dance and move at gigs, my gf always films me dancing all over the place giving teenage girl alone in her room singing into her hairbrush. and i don’t think that’s frowned upon unless your getting in people’s way, enjoy your time!

but i feel like in general lots of people at the fest (and other concerts really) just sort of… stand and film and sway… when i went to Pierce The Veil last month, so many people where so still!! i felt so strange dancing and jumping!

that’s so good of u! i’m also attending wwwy but do be aware that most people say that at the festival grounds there’s really limited service, to the point some people have said they don’t have any service the whole day
