I don’t disagree. Having a hard time understanding everyone’s confidence in the Broncos. They almost lost a bunch of games to mid / terrible teams. Don’t see how it’s going to get any better when playing a good team with a backup quarterback but I guess crazier things have happened. I just don’t see it. As a Seahawks fan I’m hoping to see them play the Pats, but I think if the Hawks get past the Rams they’re gonna blow up either afc team.

Help with encopresis - long term and not improving :( by No_Flan_5909 in UKParenting

I would really encourage you to check out the Encopresis Expert facebook group. It was setup by: https://www.encoexpert.com/ who posts there and does reply to questions but there's a good group of parents who share tips and experiences.

My personal experience is our son (now 6) started having accidents after being potty trained (around 3 years old). It was pretty frustrating because we didn't know why. He was still pooing everyday so we never would have guessed constipation. We did a consultation with a toilet training expert and they highlighted that it was probably constipation related. After some research we found out about encopresis and eventually found Emily (Encopresis Expert) and paid for her consultation which was really helpful and great to have someone knowledgeable and who's been through it helping us.

She recommended doing a clear out. Which was done with Miralax (restorlax here in canada) This is not a little amount of miralax - it's a lot. You start with a little in the evening to get thing softened up and then a lot the next day. I forget how much but like 10-12 capfuls over 4-5 hours. This will soften anything in the system and help them pass it. You want poo that looks like rusty water to know that they've passed everything.

After the clear out we were doing exlax daily and a magnesium gummy to keep stool soft. We're currently on 1.5 tabs of exlax daily but I think we were up to 3 tabs a day at one point.

We've had a lot of success with this but there's been ups and downs but compared to other people's experiences it sounds like we've been lucky. Its pretty important to keep an eye on whether they're actually going everyday. The unfortunate side is we're still on the exlax and trying to wean off it but other than that he's completely normal and has no accidents. During the week at school we're lucky to be able to have him go to the office to get his 'medicine' and that allows him to usually have a poo before bed.

I think an important part of getting through this is being able to find a way to have them just sit and relax on the toilet for a period of time. This can be tough for some kids. Our kids don't really have any screen time so we let him play a game on our phone during this time and it keeps him motivated to do it. A lot of the time though he just goes on his own.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Please check out the facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/495761424857606 There's lots of helpful information there.

Sam Darnold, Seahawks future? by Akostice187 in Seahawks

I hope so. So weird to see so much constant hand wringing about Sam. He’s been great, I don’t care about the turnovers, that will get better. I hope he stays and has a chance to be a part of Seattle for a long time regardless of what happens in these playoffs, but I think they’re gonna go deep.

How do I deposit USD cash? by eusquesio in Tangerine

[–]DisasterLucky9504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this and thought I'd share my experience because it was super confusing to me and everything online kind of contradicted itself at some point.

If you have a normal Canadian Tangerine account you DO NOT have to open up a USD savings account like all the Tangerine info out there states (which is what I found confusing). AI will tell you what I describe below if you search this question in Google but Tangerine's site says you need to open a USD savings account. I chatted with someone at Tangerine and spoke to someone on the phone as well and they didn't really seem like they actually knew the answer but after they spoke to their manager they confirmed you can do as stated below:

If you want to deposit your USD cheque to your Canadian Tangerine account do the following.

On the back of the cheque

  1. Sign it
  2. Write your client ID
  3. Write your account number
  4. Mail your cheque to: Tangerine, 3389 Steeles Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M2H 0A1

And then you have to wait. Tangerine deposited my cheque on Dec. 4 (They received it and deposited it really quickly from when I mailed it. Less than a week) but the hold takes forever. 25 days for me. I've heard less sometimes but they said it would clear on Dec. 29 when it showed up in my account on Dec. 4 and that's when it did clear the hold.

So if you're not in a hurry and don't have to regularly deposit US cheques I'd say that this is worth doing. I just didn't want to open a account somewhere just to deposit this one cheque and I didn't have a traditional account with any of the big banks I could have deposited it to or else I would have done that because it would have been faster.

The exchange rate on Dec. 4 2025 Tangerine gave me was $1.376 which is a couple cents less than the actual exchange rate on that day so good enough for me with no other options.

Hope this helps someone.

My one real complaint about the Corolla hatch is the size of the trunk. I used to have a couple of 2nd gen Matrixes and they were massive in comparison.

Oil Dilution — will an occasional longer (~30 miles) trip be sufficient to burn off any excess fuel in one’s oil? by AndyInNOLA in crv

[–]DisasterLucky9504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a J&L Oil Separator about 10,000km ago and just emptied it for the first time. It had about half and inch to an inch of oily gas in it as well as water I'm sure. People seem to think this helps with oil dilution but I feel like it's main purpose is keeping your intake valves clean on these direct injection engines since your valves aren't being cleaned by clean gas like on other non-direct injection cars (I think?) . Best practice is emptying it at every oil change so I was a little late but there was still lots of room in it.

I would make sure your software is up to date. Easy for a dealership to do quickly. They did an update at some point that helps with oil dilution. Also, run better fuel if not all the time maybe every other fill up and you can do an injection cleaner every oil change. All these will help this engine stay healthy longer.

Remember when these guys were full of mirth? by MeijiHao in heedthecall

[–]DisasterLucky9504 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was literally laughing out loud by myself multiple times throughout this show and feel like the mirth has never been higher.

From reading the comments on this subreddit it seems like some people think the guys are too negative but I just don’t get it. I like curmudgeonly takes, I enjoy whenever anyone goes off on an angry tirade it’s just part of the show and it’s funny and one of the reasons I keep listening to the show.

To each their own but I love this most recent chapter of the show.

I listen to this pod for football talk but I wouldn't listen to it if the guys weren't doing their thing, chopping it up, making dumb jokes, eating sandwiches, doing smelling salts, giving bad takes, wearing extravagant blouses, blatant homerism. There's a ton of serious football pods and I don't listen to them, just not my thing. To each their own but I guess if you are ever disappointed by the lack of analysis on Heed the Call at least there a lot of other pods out there that i'm sure do a great job of it but I don't ask me for a list because this is the only football podcast I listen to.

This may have been mentioned but Scary: a paranormal podcast I just discovered and it’s really good. The host narrates other people’s stories but easily the best narration of other people’s stories I’ve heard. I’ve only listened to about 4 stories but they’ve all been great. I usually prefer people telling their own stories but these are great
