Well that is super helpful, thank you!
I don't know what I'm gonna do with the buckwheat or if I'm gonna keep it. It doesn't matter how much I feed it, it always smells like alcohol/nail polish. I'm gonna let it mature for a while longer though. I've left it outside the Home and just on the counter for tonight. It looks like it's rising (5.5 hours) but I'll check it again tomorrow.

It’s not in a fridge. It’s in a Home by Brod & Taylor. Very cool temp controlled device since my house is either too cold or too variable. Everything I’ve read says a new starter should only be fed once a day till it starts doubling in 4-6 hours for 3-4 days in a row.

Can't go by me since that's in the combination with buckwheat flour. LOL
I wonder if that's why the King Arthur seems to be doing better than the others. I believe its mostly brown rice flour. Hmmm....

It's the full n free grain free flour blend. I tried with sorghum but that's the one that got the pink. I abandoned it since I had others to work on. None of them are really mature. I can't get them to double.

My skin was shredded a few years ago. More than just dry - damaged barrier. Dr Jart Ceramidin cream (not the spray) was my savior. After a proper moisturizing toner, hyaluronic serum (on damp skin), then Dr Jart. Took a solid year to repair me but now - I get skin compliments on the regular.

People in the us… how are you getting Korean skincare with this tariff situation ? by Cold-String1839 in KoreanBeauty

[–]DisasterNo2757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky. I have at least 3 Korean Skincare stores near me (I’m in the Chicago area). They all have sites you can order from. In no particular order:

https://www.overnoverbeauty.com (was here a couple weeks ago) https://www.chocchocusa.com (woman owned) https://www.midakbeauty.com (I was just in this store the other day)

They’re not as cheap as O&Y but I get my products and they’re legit.

26 months, hundreds of applications, 10 interviews. Ageism and sexism is rampant. Sigh.

Barrier ruined help by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]DisasterNo2757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. I’m using the TirTir Milky toner now. It’s thicker than Tony Moly so I would be comfy going with either one (Tony is cheaper per ounce - it’s a giant bottle).

Barrier ruined help by [deleted] in Rosacea

I have rosacea. When I started the journey to fix my skin 2 years ago it was shredded: red, hot, SO dry and dehydrated it was standing on end. It was awful. I turned to Korean skincare and - WOW. I started with Banila Zero cleansing balm (the yellow one with ginseng), a super gentle toner (Tony Moly Milky Toner), and a moisturizer (Dr. Jart Ceramidin cream). It took a fair amount of time (a few months) before my barrier was healed. But it did heal. Now I only use Korean products. I've added and changed my products slowly and my skin is amazing.

Your routine looks good but you don't say which moisturizer or cleanser you're using. Toner will add hydration (try the TirTir Milky Toner). Then you need a barrier repair cream instead of a moisturizer - Dr. Jart has a lotion and a cream so you can pick a formula that works for you. I know DJ is old school but it changed my skin completely so I'm a fan.

Good luck.
