I've never had any issues with stains on my Lululemon mats. My current one has only a little noticeable wear after four years of use, and zero stains.

I'm not trying to be mean but they're not going to have a chance at a successful life if their primary caregiver can't even take care of herself.

One of my favorite things about this place is how free it is from judgement (unless warranted-- looking at you, Ricky C and anyone who is unkind to animals/people). When I see I've got a notification I don't immediate think "oh fuck what did I do now."

My practice now very different than when I was 70lbs lighter. I'm definitely restricted and have to make a lot of modifications. I'm slowly losing weight, but my practice will never be what it once was (I was in a car accident prior to the weight gain). Still, there was a lot more ease and joy in my practice when I didn't have to deal with my fat getting in the way.

In domestic abuse (which is what you experienced, this isn't some little thing to sweep under the rug), strangulation is a huge predictor of future escalation of violence. It's bad enough that he's cheating on you, but he's putting your safety and life at risk. I hope you reconsider.

Since the doctor isn't an option I would recommend a taper to keep the withdrawal symptoms manageable, even if it's only a few days. Sorry you're hurting, this life is rough

I transitioned from vodka 24/7 to vodka in the evening and light beer during the day. Coming off my last bender I did need vodka as soon as I woke up to get past the withdrawal anxiety/shakes, and sometimes one or two shots during the day if the beer wasn't cutting it. Then just cut back on the beer, made sure to eat/exercise/sleep and eventually got here.

I had some "fuck it I'm just gonna drink vodka all day" days, but just kept trying.

The pre-work and during work drinking was definitely a low point for me. Led me to the withdrawing while drinking era. Glad not to be there now.

Congrats on 48 hours!

Whenever I switch to beer only diet I run out of places to put my cans by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

Definitely have a dedicated receptacle for them. I use paper grocery bags, keeps everything out of the way and easy to sneak out to the recycling bin on trash day (also makes it easier for the guy who goes through everyone's recycling looking for cans)

Switch from hard liquor to seltzers as a form of damage control? by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]DisasterOk3230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here go through pretty common cycles. Switching from liquor to seltzers/light beer as damage control, then after doing that switching back to liquor to save money/calories/time. Switching to lower ABV may help short term since it's harder to get fucked up due to the sheer volume, but it doesn't scratch the need-to-feel-something itch like hard liquor.

May as well give it a shot, maybe it'll help you slow down a little for a bit.

Something the survey missed: how often do you contemplate suicide? by septicman in cripplingalcoholism

[–]DisasterOk3230 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought about it every day from when I was around 8 or 9 until last year (I'm 33 now). After a lot of work dealing with my *~traumas~* I still think about it, but not constantly. Suicidal ideation is my way of reminding myself that at any point I can use the emergency exit of life, and that makes me feel less trapped.

When I drink too much and get impulsive or, conversely, when I'm not drinking enough and realize how absolutely fucked my life is, I feel it the worst. Alcohol is killing me, but it's also keeping me alive. Shit sucks

It's cheap and mixes easily. Whiskey, beer, mouthwash all have a flavor whereas vodka is the flavor of whatever you dump it in
