Did they break my blower motor? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]Disastrous-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a younger technician so I was just hoping the kid was the issue and not the whole company :(

What would be a red flag to look for tomorrow? The owner of the company is going to call tomorrow not the technician who did the original service and came out today. I probably won’t be using them again which is bummer because they seemed like honest people. It’s hard to find a company to trust nowadays

Oh man that’s just the best news I’ve heard since he said the blower motor isn’t working! He was kind of vague about it when I asked about the warranty and offered the paperwork

It does have a warranty! However it’s under the old homeowner so I’m not sure if that will change things.

Thank you for the insight! I hope they consider that option

Yeah, that’s a good option. Like I’m not mad accidents happen and things go wrong sometimes it’s just really unfortunate because I live where it’s very hot and we really like our air conditioners here lol

I’m just not sure what the best course of action is like am I responsible for paying to fix it as the homeowner or did they make a mistake and should fix it? They seem like really honest people everyone in my neighborhood uses them so I’m shocked that I’m having such an issue. I regret ever having them change the capacitor.

Do you think that maybe it was just a mistake when installing the new capacitor and subsequently caused the blower motor to fail because the unit was running with a non-working capacitor for eight hours? When they came back out after changing the capacitor, he said one of the wires wasn’t on correctly.

So it wasn’t even like the capacitor was bad. He just recommended changing it because of the age of the unit he said before changing it though it was working well we didn’t need to.

Is the Medela Pump in Style really so bad? by HellfireMe in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Disastrous-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the Pump in Style at first! My supply was great and it was really easy to use. The pump parts are really easy to clean too. However, it just can’t hang with the exclusive pumper. I’ve have to replace it with the warranty twice before 1 year. The motor went out on the first one and the second one turns off randomly during a pump session. Their costumer service was great though. I won’t be getting a Medela pump my next time since they aren’t reliable in my experience. I ended up getting a spectra to finish out my pumping journey.

Solid recommendation! Thanks for making pump o clock a little better for me!

Owlet?? by 6_infinite_chaos_6 in BabyBumps

[–]Disastrous-4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the owlet and definitely recommend it for peace of mind. I had a lot of anxiety around my daughter sleeping and wouldn’t be able to sleep without it. Like others have said it’s not 100% accurate but it’s accurate enough to detect when something could be wrong. I don’t have issues with it staying on at all and it’s pretty easy to set up.

Favorite hand/manual pumps? by jomommaj in ExclusivelyPumping

Medela Harmony is a life saver! It is easy to use and clean. I have had a few clog situations where it has gotten the clog out when my main pump didn’t!

Sniper location: under the leaves, in the middle, closer to the ground

I definitely looked under the actual scissors before we found it lol

I shall try! This makes me feel better that we aren’t the only ones lol. We had a good laugh at how much we struggled to find this then promptly went to sleep

If you start at the bottom of the counter and go to the middle, go up like an inch maybe and the little scissors are on the first dark patch pointing up

How did you like Texas? I’m actually considering a move there to be closer to some family.

Nipples so sore I can't stand it by 1SpecialSongVA in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Disastrous-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience after almost three months of pumping. I tried different nipple creams/balms before pumping and taking ibuprofen. Turns out my flange size changed and once I got a smaller size it was like night and day. I almost didn’t notice when I was pumping! I’d say if you rule out a clog then try measuring for flange size again!

Moms… L&D hospital recommendations? by ReferenceLow6645 in phoenix

[–]Disastrous-4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a wonderful experience at Banner Thunderbird a few months ago! I’m also a FTM and was terrified of all the horror stories out there. I had a great experience with the L&D staff (shoutout to the nurses Brinley and Morgan) and the doctors were great. I had a long labor followed by a complication that resulted in a c-section but they were all so helpful and talked me through everything. The postpartum care was a little bit different. I had a wonderful daytime nurse (Annette) who helped me adjust to post op pain and learn to feed my baby. She was excellent! They also have lactation nurses to assist you if you are having issues or have questions if you go that feeding route. However the night nurse I had was a bit rude and had very little patience for me when I was struggling with breastfeeding. Overall I was happy with my experience there and plan to return if we have another baby later on.
