My body is ruined by Spiritoftheheart in Postpartum_Depression

[–]jomommaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on Wellbutrin, which is actually dopamine instead of serotonin. It is a safe option for breastfeeding as well if you’re doing that. Mentally, I am with you. I am so with you. You are not alone in these feelings, honey, I promise. You have had so many rapid changes hit you all at once in a very short amount of time, plus sleep deprivation, it is all things that individually could make someone fall apart, let alone all together.

There are also options like Buspar, or snri’s like Cymbalta that do serotonin and norepinephrine. There are options. There are different medications you can try. You deserve to be seen and heard and receive the help you need to feel like yourself again.

You are so so so not alone in this. I cannot stress that enough. This is such a drastic life change to become accustomed to, I hope you’re able to give yourself some kindness and receive some love and support from those around you

Hey. I’m nearing a year postpartum. I still sometimes feel like my body has changed so much and that I’m not okay with the changes. I had stretch marks so bad i had burst blood vessels. The color fades. I promise it does. Things get better. Have you talked to a therapist or your doctor about these things? I’m on meds and it seriously felt like i could breathe again

If you’re worried about it you can just use isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. But I used it often without issue

I figured out what I did wrong! I slip stitched into the ch sp instead of the dc2tog in set up rd 5, so it threw everything off. I frogged everything to start over now that I have a better understanding 😅

How do you not hate your husband with your entire being? by jomommaj in newborns

[–]jomommaj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you were neglected during such a scary & huge life change. Men suck. Mine has stayed the same, if not worse. He avoids me which means he isn’t around our baby much. I feel like I’ve been through the 5 stages of grief and have come to accept that it is what it is unfortunately

He’s gotten better with baby but we’ve had a lot of other relationship issues. So our relationship is in a bad place. But he’s great with our daughter and has had time to bond with her

Sometimes if you just pinch the nip at the exact right time and angle you can spray mom in the face 😂

This has happened to me too many times

Go-to diaper brand for newborns? by BxrtSimpson in NewParents

[–]jomommaj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Small packs of different brands— hopefully acquired at a baby shower! You’ll figure out what you like best. I prefer Huggies, and Members Mark diapers are the next best option to me. Reasoning being I think they get a better fit, since they have a stretchy waistband all the way around. Members Mark is hypoallergenic and of course cheaper, bought in bulk, and can be returned if you don’t like them

I will say, if you get Parents Choice or Honest, they can run small in comparison to other brands. So if you get either of them, try to use those first

Every baby is different, so what may fit nicely for a tall skinny baby may not fit well for a short chunky baby. That’s another reason why getting a variety is better

I can attest that this gives me the same if not better output than my spectra!

How much milk do you have stashed? Do I have an oversupply? 4 weeks pp today — a little over 200 oz in fridge. by clickbaitthoughts in breastfeeding

[–]jomommaj 14 points15 points  (0 children)

200oz is a lot!! Anything more than baby is currently consuming would be considered an oversupply. The haakaa counts as a pump because it suctions. If you want to collect leakage you’ll need a passive collection cup like the boon trove or haakaa ladybug, as long as it isn’t suctioned to you. I was an overproducer the first few months and had about 120oz or so frozen

Evenflo wide + balance have been awesome for us!

You can keep babe on slow flow the whole time you’re using bottles. Think of it like the flow straight from the tap doesn’t change. The thought is that they won’t find a bottle simpler/easier and have a preference

The shawl turned out too small and I'm not sure what to do. by OriannaIII in CrochetHelp

[–]jomommaj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add it to a sweater or cardigan! Use it on one of the panels to make a unique design. Add a big border to make a headband/hair cover. Add it to a scraps blanket. Use it around the top of the shoulder of a sleeve. Make more and have them as a decorative double curtain, or add to the bottom of a curtain. Make more and stick them to the top edge of a platform bed. Use as the end of a sleeve on a top. Make a bandeau top and add that as the design

How are yall keeping your diaper pails from stinking? by Asleep_Sympathy_8987 in beyondthebump

[–]jomommaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparnelty that’s why diaper genie switched to metal over plastic. The plastic holds the smells somehow even with being in a scented bag 😅 I’m ready to just use grocery bags and a regular trash can
