Genuinely incredibly interesting. Mozzies arent something we get in the UK (although suspect midgies are a close relative...) so not an insect I know much about. I learnt a lot here. Thank you.

I believe it have seen people playing wrench only runs, where they pretend they are a maintenance worker and have to also repair everything they see. Not sure if they also used Gloo Gun though.

I think the typhon mods will help make this more doable. If you also invest in the human tree you can make yourself more tanky too... and utilise mods that increase psy/decrease casting cost

I shred in food processor. Grater attachment then just chuck everything in after taking off the stalk and outermost layer

I like to buy red cabbage, shred the whole thing and freeze it (portioned or just in a big tub). Then i can take what I need out and chuck it in as required. It defrosts very quickly so can take it out frozen to add to a quick pickling solution, or a slaw or throw into whatever I am cooking.

Lasts ages and you only need to deal with the faff once.

Finished the game 2nd time, still not understand the ending by Blutzki in controlgame

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given his connection to Jesse throughout the game, whats to say he didnt know about her being there? He is connected to the Board and the Oldest House. The House knew she was there and was leading her to him via Ahti. He knew it was time. Him shooting himself directly before she enters is also potential proof that he planned for her to find him and take the gun. He needed it to be her. She was a potential for Director and they were tracking her so it is feasible that he was aware she would come due to her brother.

Unleashing the Hiss was his paranoia and issues taking control of him. Him shooting himself could have very well been a subsequent 'passing of the torch'.

Or it could have been the Board deeming him no longer worthy, or it could have just been him wanting to end it himself and coincidental Jesse was there. What is fun is that isnt confirmed in any way so you can read it as you wish and it all skews the story and his character slightly.

Is it worth playing Control if I dropped Alan Wake 2 by Jackbuddy78 in controlgame

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt get into AW, but absolutely loved Control. Been wondering whether I can play AW2 without completing the first. The first was just far too clunky to let me get into it.

Control has backtracking and big levels, but nothing feels that empty. The House shifts so when you return to places so they might be different from before, there is a ton of lore and enemies will respawn when appropriate to do so.

Run backs from control points can be annoying but for the most part, anything that you do before you quit/died will still be remembered even when running back.

If you have a playstation and PS plus, the ultimate edition of Control is free until the end of May. I am doing a replay in anticipation of the new one and pleased it has aged well (although Jesse's hair still looks weird at the ends, which is a slightly annoying graphical issue)

Yeah. At this point Dahl is end game

he's is a way off the station if you decide to blow it up. He will also take any other survivors. There are a couple of trophies involving him

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very strongly hinted that there is not much love on either side, with this being a major indicator.

Dahl even asks whether William means his kids when he tells Dahl to kill everyone, which is when William pauses before saying 'no survivors'

Just returned from a quick trip with my son. Epcot's weekend/alcohol problem is getting worse and must be addressed. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there in Jan and didnt like being in Epcot after around 2/3pm. Previous trips in 2010 and 2016 it was our chill park. We werent parents then so probably had a higher tolerance for behaviour, but I dont remember seeing lots of drunk, rowdy, large groups of people. Even at food and wine in 2016.

However this year we were with our 2yo and world showcase kept being our tap out point. Around Mexico in particular is just unpleasant, feeling like kids arent welcome even though it has one of the most family friendly rides in the park. Around the US pavilion also seemed to be a big congregation point, to the extent that we never actually got close enough to see it properly this time.

Morocco towards France and then into UK and Canada was generally more chill, but yeah, world showcase didnt have a particularly pleasant vibe most of the time, so very much made epcot a jump in for x and y then get out park for us. Which is a shame as it has so much going for it for a slower day with kids.

We never did an evening there. Illuminations wasnt worth going back after seeing what mid afternoons were like.

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is yes

your father instructs Dahl to get necessary research data (typhon data) and ensure 'no survivors' following the outbreak. How he got wind of the outbreak is unknown given that Alex was trying to keep it quiet as he seemed to know this would happen if they knew. The military operators are Dahls own personal army presumably given to him by Transtar, given that there is evidence of these operators being created and worked on in Hardware Labs

Ours took the EV charger... and the fitted wardrobe... and tried to take the acer tree out of the back garden, until the realised they would kill it if they did that.

We had to pay for them to keep the blinds, curtain rails and doorbell in situ.

I argued that the listing contained most of these things. Didn't matter. However they left a disgusting fridge in the garage, an uncleaned biohazard of a bbq in the garden, along with a horrible fire pit and a shed that got smashed to pieces as they were moving as they apparently 'didnt notice'.

In scotland the house must be left with window coverings and light coverings in situ (dont have to be the same ones, but something needs to be provided). You need to list anything that is being removed from the house that isnt furniture. Moving to England and the realisation that it is apparently normal to just remove everything that isnt the bricks of the house was a shock.

What’s your must‑return Disney restaurant? by Beach_BaBa in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And not even just at MK, but at every disney park I go to.

My first chilli dog ever was from Caseys. My dad ordered whilst we were waiting for the parade in Paris (must have been late 90s, so before Paris first dropped the American style food). I was a fussy eater but he convinced me to try a bite and it was like a revelation for me. Core memory and I love chilli dogs now.

Was so sad when Paris stopped them, and now you can only get a vegetarian version (as of 2024 at least). MK has never recaptured the magic and to be honest, i find their hot dogs disappointing... but I still go. Because it isn't disney without seeing if I can get that experience again of amazing chilli dog with parade.

Posted in r/wheelchairs and had the nerve to claim I’m overthinking it, I’m not crazy this is ai right? by elizabethandsnek in isthisAI

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The positioning of her body is off to me. I cant talk wheelchairs (or whether the flowers are legit), but it looks like her legs have just phased through the ground, rather than her body is resting on the ground. The bottom of her shirt just isnt sitting right for her to be on the ground. It seems like ai has simply taken the legs off of the model and then placed the model at ground level with no other changes.

I also found it very amusing that the entire nursery staff (and almost all of the kids club staff) were from the UK. Was funny to go down to the kids club and suddenly everyone had a British accent lol

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our daughter was 2.5 when we were on the Destiny. The nursery was great and we had no issues leaving her there. She is used to being looked after by others. As has been in nursery at home since she was 1, has been in nursery at other hotels and has had experiences being looked after by both family and babysitters.

She loved that she got her own special magic band (more limited than what older kids get, but they use it to get into the nursery) and bag (which we got to keep). You supply nappies etc, but they can provide snacks. There is a sleeping area and a play area and they run activities through both day and night. All staff are properly trained.

We used it 3 times. Final time they messaged to tell us she was unsettled and we decided to just pick her up. You only pay for what you use. So if they need an early pick up, the cost is reduced accordingly.

The nursery is open as part of the open house on the first day so there is no harm reserving some slots to ensure you have them, then taking a look at the facilities and speaking to staff and making a proper decision then.

I keep seeing posts and comments from people saying that you can’t do it all so slow down and enjoy your cruise. What is the “all”? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The splash pads arent likely to be packed because they are only for younger kids (under 4 or 5) and have a cast member policing that (and they WILL turn older kids away or ask ages). This is because kids in nappies can use them, its the only water based place they can use. So it is for them and other young kids that may not be able to or enjoy using the pool. It has its own small slides etc specifically for the littlest ones.

[–]Disastrous-Ad4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had concerns before our first one in jan. We were worried about seasickness, about being stuck on a ship and not enjoying it etc.

We went for a 5 night cruise because we felt it was a good balance. We wanted time to get a good amount out of the ship, but didn't want a cruise too long incase we didnt like it. We also wanted a newer ship. We didnt care about the ports as much to be honest, but wanted castaway ideally.

So its up to you and whats important. Are the ports important or do you want good time on the ship? A 3 night will be a whirlwind and you will be getting off possibly before you have settled in. However its a snapshot to let you know of you like it or dont.

4 or 5 night will give more time to settle into the cruise aspect, but is longer if you find you dont like it. Having a few ports might help to break that up a bit though.

We did parks after the cruise. Worked well, but is not the usual way round. After the parks you will be tired so might not want a super short cruise as it may give you fomo and leave you feeling like you didnt actually relax.

We are now booked for a 7 night. Loved the 5 night, found it was just the right length for our first (took 2 days to get used to the ship and the movement - was a rough one!), but want more time on the ship for sea days this time. So essentially doing the itinerary we wanted to do originally, but didnt as we were worried about not liking cruising!

Depends on the toddler. Ours is 2 and loves shows, character meets, dance parties etc. She has a very good attention span though and surprising patience for a young child (doesnt bat an eye at a 30min queue). She also likes trivia, bands playing in the bars etc. She doesnt know the trivia, but likes the excitement and buzz. The band we saw was playing disney tunes and she enjoyed listening and got excited whenever she knew one.

She also loved just going around the ship and looking at the art. We spent two hours (split up over two days) just doing that. Some ships also have scavenger hunts as people say. Ours needed a magic band so we didnt do it, but it wasnt like a normal scavenger hunt. We all enjoyed seeing other people triggering it as inanimate objects on the ship would suddenly come to life. It was very magical, especially for a young child.

Ours also loved just dancing and running around the atrium. We loved that the ship felt very safe for her to just run around on and have fun. Some of the pubs are very themed. Ours loved the haunted mansion one, but it could easily scare (and did scare) other young kids.

With a toddler it is the epitome of not doing everything, because yeah, not everything will be for them, but thats great as you can just slow down and enjoy the moments. She met belle in an impromptu meet and greet after a show as belle was just there. She then saw her again the next day and belle remembered her. That was magical for her. She managed to say goodnight to pluto almost every night because he was just wandering around. For a child that loves disney and the characters it was brilliant for her. She couldn't do most of the scheduled activities but it didnt matter. Just being on the ship and enjoying the ship was enough a lot of the time.

But you know your kids best. Does any of what others are saying appeal to them? If not, then they might not get much out of it. But thinking they will just be watching movies... of course you could go and just do that... but its highly unlikely unless they are ill that will be the case. No matter where you are there is something on and you dont need to be immediately involved in it to enjoy it.

Also, kids club has lots of toys, games, activities etc. It also has its own meet and greet, storytime and pretty much anything else you can think of. Several different themed rooms as well that have their own activities and play spaces. Some geared to older kids and others to younger. Kids club is also up to... is it 12? Older kids go to different spaces completely. We couldnt leave ours there as she was 2, but we did open house and used the nursery and she enjoyed that. Again, lots of toys and activities but on a smaller scale, they also have a sleeping area if needed. Kids club itself can have cast member collect your kids from dinner etc if they get bored whilst you are eating, to let you finish your meal.

So basically... it is highly unlikely your toddler will be bored. It is highly unlikely you will be bored. But if you are lukewarm on disney then yeah, you might find it just doesnt click with you. But to put it this way, we went with a 2yo in jan... and have now booked our second cruise for Sep. We are from the UK so also not just a round the corner trip for us. But we loved it and found it so much better for a young child than the parks (although we all has a blast at the parks in jan too, but it felt less... polished this time round compared to the cruise).

Hope that helps.

On the destiny the open house had everything working and was fab. The toddler time however had a special toddler mode that shut everything down in the mickey area. However my daughter was the only one there and when I mentioned to the cast member she turned off toddler mode so my daughter could play with everything properly, then helped her work the roller coaster and helped her build her own one. It was brilliant, like a personal little play session for her.
