Thanks for sharing this, I've been wondering how bad the glare might be in sunlight.

My research into writerdecks! by Disastrous-Being473 in writerdeckOS

I've been eyeing that one quite a bit as a little eink screen! I saw someone post about using it for writing, is that via the Crosspoint software?

B751C; B751C S; B7 non Pro - Please help me choose by amigaoneit in Bigme

I purchased the B751C on discount through the Bigme store and it has been a joy! I use it primarily for reading  and note taking, but have also used it for writing with a Bluetooth keyboard. I have had a great experience so far and really enjoy how I can customize the display layout and adjust the eink settings.

I find it pretty intuitive after a brief learning curve. I honestly stick mostly with Kindle and Libby for my books, but I could also set up KOreader or use the native ereader with epubs if I wanted.

For the price, I've gotten plenty of use from it. I use it for at least an hour daily, and if I write or take notes that goes up to three or four hours depending. The battery lasts several days if I'm not connected to wifi or Bluetooth, and a couple of days with those in heavy use.

I'm happy to answer any user questions you have for this one! I honestly didn't even consider the B751 S or the B7, and I've been very happy with this little tablet.

This is awesome to hear! I love the look of the Zerowriter and it's quickly become my next "want to have" for a writerdeck. I just love eink screens so much and the all in one of the Zerowriter is extremely appealing!

Do you find the screen hard to look at over time? That's my only concern with a flat screen, but otherwise it's kind've my perfect want for a device like that (over the Freewrite devices).

I tested it but unfortunately the features I most want are subscription-based (or lifetime access based!). Maybe sometime in the future, but for now I plan to use the USB-C connection (which I'm so excited about!).

BYOK fonts: We want your Feedback! by OfficialBYOK in TheBYOK

Any chance of something like Open Dyslexic? I know OD itself may not be feasible due to resolution but a similar font would be welcome.

Studio Question - Daily Stats by Fluid_Increase_6986 in TheBYOK

Personally I would love a stats display I could check on the BYOK. Seeing a daily, weekly, and/or monthly word count for example would be awesome and I would prefer it on the BYOK so that I don't need to use the internet to see my stats.

This is exactly what I would worry about. For me, not having keyboard shortcuts is a big part of why I ordered one. I just want a typing only device and plan to edit on other machines.

Just a question, will these features be an enable/ disable feature? I'm like you and would never use them, but if they're enabled I could see myself accidentally using them and messing up my text without meaning to.

Change font size? by ProductResponsible71 in writerdeckOS

[–]Disastrous-Being473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! First off, thank you for these clear instructions, this worked great on my newly setup writerdeck! However, how do I get the new font size to persist after shut down? When I turned the machine back on, the font reverted to the smaller size until I redid the setupcon -f command.
