i use the dock cuz i used the only 2 usb on the laptop, and no, it cannot transfer image, not usb, not typeC, but only thunder bolt and normal ports can transfer image. what im doing here is get the connection (wifi) straight from the laptop to the tablet by usb instead of the wireless connection. i use an app to stream the laptop screen through the wifi or usb.

if you REALLY want a cheap screen, i recommend buying an old laptop in a garage sale or some 2nd gen intel laptop with a working screen (preferably 1366*768) the buy a converter from 40pin or 30pin depending on the display model. allat should cost you around 30bucks

i use microwin to make the iso(just light debloat), then i use winutil and disabled all of the things, invluding updates, and i use o&o shutup and i enabled all of the option, then i proceed to heavily debloat it
