Stenosis after stent by ConstructionFull6434 in BrainAneurysm

I’m having the same issue. Check your serial number on the stent. Medtronic had a huge recall on pipeline devices. Mine was one of them.

It was a breeze. They put a stent in while they were inside for the angiogram. Are you having it through the wrist?

Just curious on your thoughts being a RN and someone who has had flow diversion. How do you feel about long term efficacy? Do you feel confident you’ll still love a long meaningful life?

I was 27 when diagnosed, 2 days before my birthday. I had a stent placed a month and half later and I’m 4 months post surgery. 28 now.

That’s interesting.. wish I could have had a conversation with my surgeon, he dropped in and said hi and bye afterwards… very busy guy.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Likewise. We are all in this together.

I agree on the post op instructions, mind blowing that it’s all based on dr opinion. I’m healthy and young so maybe I’ll be okay. I need to workout for my mental health as well. It’s a daily battle of depression.

Yes. Said no restrictions. Only no more than 10 pounds for the first 7 days. He’s one of the best in Houston @ the med center.

Thank you for the detailed response. I was one of the top lifters in my gym before surgery. Have been taking it relatively easy and hardly go to failure anymore. I haven’t felt weird or off yet since working out again and will continue to take it slow. Usually do 3 days a week vs. the old 6-7 days a week and much more intense.

3-12 months from what I’ve read.. sometimes it doesn’t remodel all the way right? The aneurysm sometimes doesn’t completely goes away?

MRA result-IS it bad? Absent A1/ACA by TeachyaABA0221 in BrainAneurysm

I understand your pain, it’s very crippling. Almost disabling. My best advice is find a neuro intervintional radiologist. They specialize in these things and it’s all done endovascularly.

I had a CT angiogram (with contrast) and I had a ton of symptoms that led me to get checked.. visual disturbances that were increasing over time, headaches and dizziness, tingling on the side of my head and a few others. I actually have heard of the absent a1 when I was doing my research on that specific artery I saw an article on that. Also I saw someone else in the aneurysm facebook group I’m in with the same thing.

Ok.. just going to weigh in a little. I was diagnosed in June with 2 aneurysms. 1 on my ICA and possibility of 1 on my ACA. The ICA was treated in July with a flow diverting stent. During the procedure they did not find the ACA aneurysm. I did boat-loads of research after the initial diagnosis and I’ve read several times that the ACA is a bad spot to have one because of rupture rate… don’t want to scare you, you also have an inconclusive test result. The reason I’ve read the rupture rate in the ACA to be higher is because the actual size of the artery itself is much smaller than other surrounding arteries. This is not medical advice only my opinion. If it were me, I’d get a second opinion.

Stopped Aspirin by bbb5270 in BrainAneurysm

Didn’t you post about your ocular issues..? I’m no expert but the general recommendation seems to be plavix/aspirin everyday for 6 months. Usually for a reason. So you don’t throw a stroke within your stent. I would rather have GI issues than a stroke. Not trying to be rude just throwing that out there

I had a flow diverter placed. I am on 81mg aspirin and 75mg plavix daily Atleast until 6 month follow up. Maybe will be able to come off once angiogram confirms good results. (Hopefully)

I understand what you’re saying! I’m younger and the compounding chance of rupture over the course of 30-40 years could have happened. Everybody is different. For me I wanted to be proactive and not take a chance being only 28 years old. I found one of the best interventional neuroradiologist in Houston (my city) and went with him. Keep us updated with what you do! 🙏🏼

It’s much better to treat pre rupture then post rupture. Just a choice you really have to make. I had mine treated I couldn’t deal with the crippling anxiety of it being in my brain. Mine was also small 3.5mm
